It was a very busy weekend. On Friday, we listed a home on the market right here in the Aurora Highlands neighborhood in Arlington. With a lack of better words, it is a beauty. The owners had worked incredibly hard to get their 3BR/3BA home in tip-top shape and the recent upgrades were seemingly endless.
We had our local photographer, Denise Smallwood, head over to the home on Wednesday and by Friday we were ready to pull the trigger. Within a matter of minutes of listing the home on Friday, we were receiving offers. Apparently our marketing had worked pretty darn well.
Nonetheless, we still had brochures, a custom slideshow and tailored YouTube video ready to go. Now they make a nice keepsake for our new home buyer... as well as our clients.
Arlington VA Homes for Sale - Less than 1% of Realtors use video?
You read the headline. It's true and pretty incredible/sad/unbelievable that in the YouTube age less than 1% of Arlington VA homes for sale are accompanied by a video.
My social media guy, Jesse, attended Max Pigman's Realtor.com conference a few months ago on how to better market real estate in 2010. He shared this statistic with me and it really surprised me. With each listing I receive here at Arlington Realty, I have award-winning local photographers (Denise and Steve Smallwood) create a customized YouTube video. We then embed this video on several different sites, targeting folks in the Arlington/McLean/Great Falls areas.
If Jesse gained anything from the Reston conference, it's that you have to continue to find new ways to get the word out. Video these days is definitely among these ways! People simply aren't reading housing books or driving around neighborhoods looking for homes like they did in the golden days. They are finding homes on the Internet... and that's where we will continue to explore and find new ways to reach people and sell some homes.
In the meantime, it's nice to know that our Arlington VA homes for sale are in that 1% that Max spoke of!
