What one man learned about himself in this election.
In this unprecedented election some people really find out what they are truly made of. I’ve never volunteered for a campaign but after reading this story maybe next time I will give it a try. The things you learn from people can give you a valuable education that far exceeds any classroom. There are people who really don’t know (and yes the day before the election) who they will vote for and are very torn in what direction they will take. But in the midst of volunteering and being in uncomfortable situations you see the hope of a nation as Nov 4th approaches.
This is basically what people want. People want change. People need hope. People need something different then what they have had in the past. I think the results of who wins tomorrow evening will the culmination of all of the above. This country needs change. This country needs fresh. We need a new hope and a new attitude. I will be watching this election very close because whomever is elected they have the hopes and dreams of a nation on their back. We have such a long way to go. There are people here who are facing losing everything they have worked for all of their lives. They need a leader who will make them proud. Will it happen overnight? I don’t think so. It’s going to take time.
Don’t forget to VOTE!!!!!

And the oil came tumbling down.
Oil has now reached below the 67.00 price point. And with no end in sight. People are tightening their belts as this economy spirals out of control. When will it bottom out? Who knows? But the savings at the pump has for the moment put a smile on consumers. In our industry (real estate) driving is a way of life for us. And a break at the pump is like having an early Christmas. Lets hope this keeps up as the holidays are coming soon and we would like to be able to travel and see family wherever they are.
I can see a trip to Florida in the near future. I can feel the warm weather already.

Former Sec of State Colin Powell endorses Sen Barack Obama for President.
Could this be perceived as a blow to the Republican Party? Maybe maybe not. IMHO Mr Powell is a very influential man whether he is a Republican or a Democrat and whomever he chooses to be the next Pres. I think of him as a highly skilled and very well educated man who would have made a very good President himself. Why he didn’t run for office is anyone’s guess and there has been speculation and rumor flying around about it for some time.
I was commiserating with a friend this morning and we both were in agreement that if he ran hands down he would have made it. I’m not,and I repeat I’m not judging the other candidates whatsoever but there is something about him(Mr Powell) that resonates throughout the US. I haven’t heard anything negative about him(in my small world) but knowing there are people whose sole purpose is to dig up dirt and stir controversy. Whoever gets to 1600 has their job cut out for them. I don’t know if I would have the stamina for the job. You’re in a position to satisfy almost 300 million people and you will never be able to pull it off.
You just have to surround yourself with who you think is best suited to assist you in getting the job done. My hats off to the winner. Hopefully in 2012 Mr. Powell takes a serious and hard look at our country and throws his hat into the ring.

For all of us cell phone users. Interesting article.
I'm one to use my phone when I'm on the road. I try my utmost best to be careful when answering especially when I'm in the city limits. Some out there aren't and then accidents, some fatal do happen. We live in an instant world. We need to know everything right away. Remember the old Beatles song" Slow down your moving too fast. You have to make the morning last". Famous words. Maybe prophetic too. The article made alot of sense to me.
Being out on the road watching people drive and converse can be a bit scary. There were a couple of close calls. You have to be so aware. It used to be where you watch out for yourself but now it includes everyone else around you. Will this be the answer (new technology) to our problem? Maybe yes. There are several states that ban the use of cellular phones when driving right now. Too many people are dying out there already.

Woman shoots herself after being foreclosed on by Fannie Mae.
This story has become one of the symbols of the growing crisis of the foreclosure mess here in the US. A 90 year old woman preferred to die then lose the home she has owned since 1970. We ask what has this country come to? Is this action going to be seen across this land because people are losing one of the most important possessions in their life? I hope not. Only time will tell. And yes she did survive. Read the article. Very interesting.
