Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!!!!!

Valentine's day is truly for Lover's!!!!!!!

On such a momentus day we honor the person in our lives who have brought us joy, passion, peace and all around good feelings to our life. I know you should ALWAYS show that special someone how you feel on a daily basis but today is where you can go over the top or be low key. Guys let me tell you from someone in the know. It's not so much all the trappings of gifts but the time you spend to do something special with the one you call special. There must be something about her that keeps you looking in her direction. Whether it be her smile or quick wit you chose her to be in your life. Make her feel like the Queen she is to you. Remember it's not what you say it's what you DO!!!!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!!!!

SUPER TUESDAY!!!!!!!!!

SUPER TUESDAY!!!!!!!!!

Is it hype or does it have significant meaning? I would say the latter because there are 24 states voting today to see who can garner the most votes. In reading some of the articles concerning this day the candidates are trying their best to accentuate the positives about themselves and point out the negatives on the others. This is where it can become so confusing for a person to vote their conscience.

All the mudslinging to get the “brass ring”. You may ask yourself who is the best candidate for the job. Trust me the delegates are wondering the same thing. Lots of last minute pitches from the candidates to get the votes. Tonight the networks will have full coverage as the results come in. I will be watching to see where this goes. It’s nowhere decided but these outcomes (for both parties) will have some very important ramifications towards gathering the nominations for the Presidency. Stay tuned..More to come..

Microsoft and Yahoo…

Microsoft and Yahoo…

If you were not aware (you might have had to be under a very big rock) Microsoft made an unsolicited bid to purchase Yahoo (just a hair under 45 billion dollars). Now that is a very large amount of cash. What could we do with that exorbitant amount of money. All this to compete against Google. Can’t we all play in the same sandbox together?

I’m just sitting here imagining all the things that could be accomplished with that money. Homeless and poverty could possibly be eradicated. Education in the schools would be top notch. There could be health care for everyone who needed it. There are so many things that could be added to this list. For this to be the richest country in the world we do fall very short on basic necessities of life. But then again it’s not my money. Only time will tell what direction this proposed merger will take. My best guess it will move forward.

John Edwards.. Exit stage left!!!!

John Edwards.. Exit stage left!!!!

This came as a surprise to me but maybe not you. I really thought he was in the race for the long haul. It’s that this process seems to drag on endlessly that yes some of the candidates lose steam and they think it’s better to go out on their own gracefully. So my question is when you decide to run do you not think you’re going to be around for the finish or you believe you can WIN??

IMHO the candidates who are left must have that thought to have a fighting chance. Now we all know only 1 can win but what would be the point if they were dropping out weekly. Imagine everyone but 1 on either side left and everyone bowed out? Being on the outside looking in what would your thought be if that happened. We know it never will because candidates (with the staying power) want to win so bad they can taste it. With such a dizzying pace going from state to state.

Everyone is not cut out for that. It does take someone special because they’ve learned to focus on the “prize”. We’ll see if the Democrats win maybe we’ll see the emergence of Mr Edwards as a possible Vice Presidential candidate. Again time will tell. Hold on tight. There they go again.

Cherie Inn.. One of Grand Rapids best kept secrets..

Cheri Inn..Cherie Inn

Cherie Inn.. One of Grand Rapids best kept secrets..

I had the opportunity to have breakfast at the wonderful Cherie Inn in GR’s SE side. Located at 969 Cherry St SE in a European style motif. I was invited to go there with a business banker who raved about this place. She wanted to touch base with me to start out 2008 and recommended this eatery. Upon entering you will be amazed at how well appointed the dining area(s) are.

“The diners enjoy fresh flowers and the servers know how to treat customers” says Michael Kulczyk who has owned this establishment for the past 9 years. It has been in existence since 1929. I was impressed at how the owner waited on customers, took orders and answered questions from anyone who asked.

One of their signature breakfasts is eggs benedict. They actually make the hollandaise sauce from scratch. You have to make it a point of having breakfast there..If you’re a hot chocolate drinker you have to try it here. Whipped cream and topped off with real milk chocolate. Yum...We were there for 2 hours and the atmosphere was great. It also adjoins an art gallery for you to browse before or after your meal. Their hours are (7am til 3pm) for breakfast and (11 am til 3 pm ) for lunch. They will (in the future) have a French style dinner once per month. You need to put this on your to do lists of restaurants. You will be amazed!!

This establishment is great for meetings and private dinner parties. Call 458-0588 and ask for Michael.
