After his home sat on the market in NYC for six months, he hires a licensed Real estate broker and his home gets SOLD! and for MORE MONEY!
You gotta love this story and hopefully can share with the FSBO's you're prospecting! See attached link!

The first quarter is over, tax credit has come to an end, rates are slowly climbling but there is no time like the present to stay motivated and continue to build your business - The days of business being handed to us has long been over - sure, the tax credit was a bonus not only to buyers but also to us agents but now since that has ended, what are you doing to stay motivated and get business?
Prospecting, Prospecting, Prospecting! is what I have turned to.. I have committed to doing two open houses in a month, prospecting daily and staying focused!
I must confess, I lost focus and was unmotivated for a while but after getting a kick in the butt from my coach, I am glad to say that I am back on track. I believe that with a positive attitude, a good work ethic, and continuous prospecting, we can make this the best year yet.
It's not going to be easy - It's going to be a lot of work but when the year is over, I would rather look back, smile and say, "Impossible is not a word"!
P.S. Thank you Coach for the kick in the butt :) and for keeping me accountable!
2009 has come and gone..We hold onto the good memories and try our best to forget the bad ones..It was a year that affected alot of us in alot of different ways.. Job loss, income reduction, family breakups, and the list goes on.....Looking back now and looking ahead into the future, I am positive the life lessons learned, the obstacles that were faced, the tears that were cried will only make us into stronger human beings.. We've learned from our mistakes and we will keep learning from our mistakes.. We will love a little different this time around, we will try new marketing techinques to capture more leads, we will take the time out to eat well and exercise..whatever our New Year's goals are, we will succeed!
I am reminded of Thomas Edison's quote each time a door closes in front of me ..how he didn't let failure stand in the way of achieving what he set his mind on! "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." and I am reminded daily that When one door is shut, another one will always open.. So, Keep smiling, keep prospecting, keep on believing and reach for the moon! CARPE DIEM! (Seize the day!)
I never in a million years thought that I would buy a Wii due to the price but I am glad that I did this year. Not only is it allowing the family some bonding time but it also a great workout machine.. My favorite is Tennis. Talk about a workout! This was the family's Christmas Gift for the year but we just couldn't let that game sit under the tree for any longer.. Wii got impatient and opened it two weeks early but I am glad that we did!
I have been on Facebook for a while now and have 345 friends to show for that but how many of us Realtors joined Facebook to network with other Realtors and find ourselves going on there for "personal" business? I have in the past few months cut down the time I spent on Facebook because it is not INCOMING producing! Sure, I enter all my listings on there, but what is the likelihood that I can sell a home thru Facebook? 0? 1? Not sure about the outcome but I have decided to put my energy elsewhere. As a Realtor, my number one problem is time management because I don't have to report to myself.. I am my own boss - Therefore, I can goof off and not do a single thing, and stay in my robe and call it, "working out of the home"..It's time to take a step forward and do more incoming producing activities - no need to blame the market, the housing crisis, unemployment, etc.. because I am seeing Realtors having their best year yet in 2008 because they didn't let Negativity or other distractions stop them! Facebook is great to network, but if you are spending hours upon hours playing games, chatting, you are not beimg productive! "Design upon your major definite purpose in life and then organize all your activities around it" (Brian Tracy) So, as the saying goes, "I've heard there's going to be a recession; I've decided Not to Participate" :) Happy Networking! and Be a Success in whatever you do! Remember, you control your destiny!
