Sonora Lions Club Annual Lobster Dinner
The Sonora Lions Club will serve its annual lobster dinner from 5:30 - 8pm tonight at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds in Sonora. Fresh lobsters will be flow in from Maine today. Tickets are $35 and available by calling 209-586-2452. Proceeds benefit the club's community service projects.
Hike to Heron Point
The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation will sponsor an easy two-mile hike to Heron Point at 9am Saturday at New Melones Reservoir. A ranger will demonstrate how federal stimulus dollars are being used to improve the trail system. Meet at the Tuttletown Entrance Station at 9 am to caravan to the trailhead. Participants will receive a parking pass for the duration of the event. Bring plenty of water and clothing appropriate for the weather. For more information call 209-536-9094.
25th Annual Harvest Festi-Fall in Columbia
The Columbia Chamber of Commerce will hold is annual festival from 9 am to 5 pm Saturday and Sunday on the shady streets of Columbia State Historic Park The streets will be decorated and filled with more than 45 vendors dressed in old-fashioned attire and displaying their hadmade arts and crafts, including jewelry, pottery, apparel, home décor, wood furniture, baked goods and more. 4th Annual Autumn Festival in Railtown
This annual event will be on Saturday from 10am - 2pm and kicks off four weekends of harvest related activities for all ages. Visitors will enjoy handcar rides, games, crafts activities, demonstrations, live entertainment and more. "Harvest Haunt Express" train rides will depart on the hour from 11am to 3pm Saturday and Sunday and again the next four weekends. Park entrance fees are $5 adults and $3 for youths ages 6 -17, children under 5 are free. Train tickets, which include park admission, are $13 adults, $6 youths ages 6-17, children under 5 are free. Fall Faerie Festival
This event will be held from 12:30 - 2:30 pm Sunday at Columbia Nursery and Florist at 22004 Parrotts Ferry Road in Columbia. Admission is Free. The event will incluse a Faerie Parade, food, music, cake walk and games. The parade, for those in costume or not, will be led by the King of the Elves and Princess Penny-Pooh.
