LIVE THEATRE

Sierra Repertory Theatre will present "Bus Stop," through Sunday, Sept. 27 in East Sonora. For reservations, call 209-532-3120 or visit www.sierrarep.com.

Stage 3 Theatre Company will present "Grace and Glorie," through Oct. 18 in downtown Sonora. Call 209-533-3385 for ticket information.

ART

The Central Sierra Arts Council will present "The Returning Show II" through Oct. 18 at Stage 3 Theatre. For more information, call the arts council at 209-532-2787.

The Columbia Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the 37th annual Fine Art Show from 9am to 5pm Sunday, Sept. 20 on the streets of Columbia State Historic Park. Admission is free. For more information, call Kim Kyhl at 209-536-9047.

Along Basin Creek at River Ranch Campground in TuolumneEVENTS

The Tuolumne County Recreation Department will host a Back to School Family Skate Night from 5 to 7:30pm Friday, Sept. 18 at High Country Sports Arena. Parents and children from kindergarten through eighth grade are welcome. Youth admission is $5 including skate rental, or $4 for those with their own skates. Parents pay $1 to skate with a child or free if not skating. For more information, call 209-533-5663.

The Kiwanis Club of Greater Sonora will hold an Open Air Market from 8am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday in the Mono Village Center on Highway 108 in East Sonora. For more information, call Al Smith 209-532-0140.

The 21st Annual 49er Festival and Chili Cookoff will take place Sat. Sept 19 in Groveland. There will be a parade at 9am, followed by antique airplane flyovers, food and beverages, music, dancing, prize drawings and auctions at Mary Laveroni Community Park. Admission is free.

The Great Sierra River Cleanup will take place from 9am to noon Saturday at several locations throughout Tuolumne County. Volunteers will remove trash and debris along Sonora Creek, Woods Creek, Turnback Creek, Sullivan Creek and the North Fork of the Tuolumne River. The Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce will hold its sixth annual Wing Ding Car Show and Grape Stomp from 10am to 4pm Saturday at The Junction shopping center in East Sonora. For more information, call 209-532-4212.

Friends of Columbia State Historic Park will present Back to School Night 1861 from 5 to 8pm Saturday at the historic schoolhouse in Columbia. Costume dressup, tours, toys of the past, live music, hand-cranked ice cream and more will be featured. Admmission is free. For more information, call 209-588-9128.

Railtown 1897 State Historic Park in Jamestown will host the fifth annual Wine and Cheese Benefit that culminates with a ride aboard a special wine train from 4 to 7pm Saturday. All event proceeds benefit improvements related to the park. A variety of Northern California wineries will participate. Cheese, live music and auction will also be featured. Tickets are $25 and reservations are recommended as seating is limited for the 5pm train ride. Fore more information, call 209-984-3953.

During the week 12 homes went under contract bringing the total single family homes pending sales transactions to 93. Of the 93 pending, the average price is $238,706.
