Colorado Springs - Woodmen I-25 Improvement Project

"The Woodmen Road corridor has a long history of tremendous growth, which has created substantial congestion in northern Colorado Springs. The purpose of the Woodmen Road Corridor Improvement Project is to implement a Proposed Action plan that will increase traffic capacity and safety in this corridor."

This information is courtesy of the Pikes Peak Rural Transportatiion Authoriy (PPRTA) public website. As a long term resident of Colorado Springs, I like seeing where my money is being spent. I was relieved to see that there are large walls going up along Woodmen to help protect residential areas from traffic noise. When will the project be finished, you may ask? According to PPRTA, this portion of the project should be completed by September, 2011. I think it will be a great addition to northern Colorado Springs and will definitely help make east/west access from the city a whole lot more efficient.
