Moving further along Highway 6 towards Elkins High School you may have noticed a sign. Not just a gorgeous red Keller Williams Commercial Property For Sale sign with my name on it, but the other one for the new retail center comming soon.
At Knight Court and Highway 6 preliminary work has begun to start the development of a new retail center in the rapidly developing area. Land is being purchased quickly for development and investment in this area. Fortunately Im representing 8.5 acres of commercial property right behind this new center under construction.
With the growth and development of Lake Olympia, Riverstone, and Sienna Plantation, values and urgency continue to increase in the area. Also with Lowes now comming in, we only expect traffic counts to increase and land availability to decline as more developers move in to capitalize on the rapidly expanding master planned communities.
Back to the upcomming retail center. It is being developed by Brazos Management. Expected tenants are a Emergency Care Clinic which is much needed in the area and perfect being so close to the high school. There are also plans for an Ace Hardware, restaraunts, and specialty retailers. I think the retail center will thrive perfectly as students and parents pass it each day going towards the high school. Residents of Riverstone, Lake Olympia, Lake Colony, and Sienna Plantation will also pass by it.
Actually Ive been watching this area grow and develop over the years and invested in the area personally. This retail center might just be a great opportunity for myself or my partners to open another business.
Missouri City and Lowes are working out the final details for a brand new Lowes Home Improvement store to begin at the corner of 1092 and Hwy 6 in Missouri City on the former Herman Hospital site.
This has been rumored for years, now the details are finally being worked out. They are expecting to open by 2009 on the 22 acre site. Im excited to see the site plan and layout they proposed for the property. They plan to retain the oak trees that exist on the property. They plan to remove all the buildings and fill the pond on the property to redevelop the site.
Thier plans also include 6 pad sites for restaurants and retailers. The $20 million dollar project is expected to open in 2009. City council allowed some deviations from the standard dark red/brown brick to a lighter color for the building. Lowes plans to use thier standard energy efficient building design. Its great news for the area and the city to have a vacant site revitalized and producing revenues for the city and jobs for citizens.
Now I wonder... what about the proposed Ace Hardware nearby... and when will Missouri City attract a new hospital for its residents?
