Now calling itself The View, the apartment building is now leasing again.

The View is conveniently located near the Waterfront Metro and in the midst of Southwest DC's revitalization. It is across the street from Arena Stage and next to the currently-under-construction Waterfront Mall.

I recently discovered and purchased a fascinating book on the history of Southwest DC. "Southwest Washington DC" by Paul K. Williams is loaded with old photographs of Southwest DC. It was great to see the historic buildings in SW... some of which are still standing even if they don't look as they originally did.

The new Nationals Stadium will open on Sunday, March 30th. While the game begins at 8pm, events celebrating the opening will begin at 3pm.
Residents in the area began receiving Visitor Parking Permits in the mail as the parking restrictions in Capitol Riverfront and Southwest DC has changed. Many streets are resident parking only now. Many other streets are two-hour limited parking even on the weekends.
The President will be throwing out the first ball, so Secret Service will be handling security.
The first game will be the first chance for local residents to see how visitors find the stadium and park.

Ten Steps to Getting "Under Contract"
Start by SELECTING US as your Buyer's Agents! We will guide you through the home buying process:
1) Sign a Buyers Brokerage Agreement: Without a signed agreement, real estate agents in DC work for the Seller. Sign a Buyer Broker Agreement with a short time period to ensure that your working style and your agent's style are compatible. You can always extend it.
2) Obtain Lender Letter: You don't have to use the lender that provides the letter. Shop and compare rates, products, and services before getting under contract.
3) Define search criteria and choose homes to view: Make a list of what you have presently in your home and what you'd like to have in your new home. Then mark the items that you MUST have. If a couple is buying a home, do this independently and then compare.
4) Write offer with earnest deposit check: Your earnest deposit is applied to your down payment and closing costs at settlement. If you don't honor the contract, the Seller may keep this as damages. This check must be deposited within one week of contract ratification.
