Downtown Explosion Site Recovery

The recovery of the downtown explosion area on the 200 block of East Main between Bozeman and Rouse enters its fourth month with staging for the site cleanup almost complete.

Apart from extended - and still ongoing - investigations on the cause of the explosion, the time spent has included the shoring of the brickwork on the two buildings that served as the firebreaks to the disaster - the Montana Rug Gallery building at the corner of Bozeman and Main, and the Osbourne Block building housing Starky's Deli and The Great Rocky Mountain Toy Company.

Site cleanup is currently scheduled for June 12, and will take approximately three weeks to completion.
