Today, I want to spotlight a historical event. Some historical events affect the future in ways we regret or celebrate forever. Some are just footnotes in the chain of human existence.

The Hundreds Year War lasted from 1337 to 1453 between royal families from current day England and France. It was not really a single war, but a series of unusually long conflicts divided by rather short periods of peace so that historians have grouped their study and effects on European history into the single title "Hundred Years' War". Probably the greatest realized effect the War had was to unite what had previously been two loosely organized regions into two stable powerful countries, with large and skilled armies and navies that were in a position to use them during periods of expansion into the new worlds in the Americas.

Hello Everyone! This is your friend Nate Rowe the Realtor in Richmond VA representing homes in Richmond VA and homes in Henrico County VA.

I purchased the Talking House package about six months ago(Yes, I know). I would like to get responses from everyone on AR that can share their experience with these devices. I have not noticed how it has helped at all. I could be missing something here, but I just don't get it.

It seems to me that the sales pitch is to rent out their radio transmitters to FSBO's and when they still don't get their home sold, they will call you to list it. I have a problem with telling someone that homes get sold quicker when they talk, when if fact they don't. If this product worked, they would not need to call you to list it. I am going to call T H on Tues. and try to get my subscription canceled. I love to sell real estate, but I am not a Realtor to sell people what I believe to be a lie. I have never tried to rent out on of the monitors, but I have put the transmitters at my listings and I have not noticed them selling any quicker--I haven't even heard a positive remark about them.

If any of you have any info you could share, I would really appreciate it. I have enjoyed the info from everyone on AR and I hope I can hear some feedback on this topic.

Sometimes, I think I will just post a short memo that has no major historical interest. I think it will be more or less a "trivia" posting. Today, I have one that fits that category.

Joseph Glidden was born January 18^th, 1813. He patented an invention that played a vital part of our western expansion. There were very few trees in the mid west, so making fences to keep cattle and horses within confined areas was nearly impossible. The large animals effortlessly pushed down wire fences until November 24^th, 1874 when Mr. Glidden patented the fence material that helped shape the west. BARBED WIRE!

Hello Everyone, this is your friend the realtor in Richmond VA, representing homes in Richmond VA and homes in Henrico County VA. I wanted to write a quick blog on some cheap and very fun things to do around the Richmond area. Of course, like anything else, this requires some money to be spent. The endless amounts of fun more than make up for it.

I joined my dad this past summer for a 4 hour canoe ride down the South Anna River, starting on Rt. 33 about 6 miles west of I 295 and ending about 6 miles west of Ashland on Rt. 54. There are a few rocky areas where you might need a little experience, but he has a book where some quieter, easier rides can be found.

I am going to return with him to the James, Rivana, Pamunkey and Mattaponi this Summer. I will bring my camera next time so I can show you some of the beautiful pictures of these great trips.

Hello Everyone,

This is your realtor friend representing Homes in Richmond Virginia.

I wanted to write a blog on the world's best dog. I found Lucy almost 14 years ago when she was a puppy. I was driving in Richmond and saw a little puppy lying in a mud puddle on the side of the road. She was starving to death so I took it upon myself to pick her up and give her a better life (I don't understand how anyone could throw a little puppy out like trash).

I have spoiled her rotten for almost fourteen years now. She eats from my fork, sleeps in my bed, lies on my couch and begs when she wants. She is the apple of my eye and I wouldn't have it any other way. She has been the best dog you could ever ask for. She is still as active as ever and her personality is almost human. I always give her something to look forward to (treats, milk, rubs, etc.) I truly believe that if she always has something to look forward to she will want to stick around longer.
