Buying a home is a very stressful process for a lot of us. My job is to make it a nice and easy journey for you by guiding you in the right direction. Very often my clients' biggest concern is, ''How do I know if the neighborhood is good?'' They want to know what the crime rate is and whether there are any sex offenders.
What I tell my clients to do if they like the home and they want to buy it is, go to the neighbors' homes, knock on their doors, and tell them you are looking to buy that home down the street. A lot of those neighbors would be more than happy to tell what you need to know. You might even find some inside scoop on sellers' situation.
In terms of crime rate, you can go to that city's local police department and ask them for information. Most police offices will be very friendly and give you detailed information about the types and frequencies of different types of crimes in the area. You can also see general crime statistics by type and city in the state of Washington at WACrimeStats.net. However, typically you'll want to know information detailed to the area where the house is, which is best discovered by contacting the police department there. To learn about sex offenders, check the Washington State Sex Offender Information Center. Many other states have similar resources.
If you want to know what improvements the city is planning on doing, just go to the city hall. In my experience, they are some of the nicest people I have ever met, particularly the city halls of Kirkland and Bellevue. They are very helpful and will be more than happy to answer all your questions. You can also look up land use permits online for some cities. For instance, you can search Kirland pemits here.
I hope this was helplful. Good luck on your journey to finding your perfect home.
Hello! Welcome to my blog! I hope eventually to generate a lot of discussion here, as I will give the best information I can about the market and my opinions about different areas of real estate. There's a lot that you should know before purchasing or selling a house and there are a number of mistakes that buyers and sellers make.
While obviously I hope that some of you decide to use me for your real estate purchase or sale, my end goal of this blog is to make you better aware of the real estate process and things that you should be aware of in the process.
For an introduction of myself, I am rather new to the real estate business but I prior to being a real estate agent I worked in skin care where I was in the top 1% of sales nationwide. I bring to the job my hard work and dedication and I know what it is like going through the real estate process as a consumer. I do hope you gain helpful information from this blog and do feel free to comment.
