The holidays are here whether you are ready for them or not. Man the older we get the faster the years go by. There is one thing in life that really makes me feel like a kid again and really get into the Holiday Season, and that is going and looking at lights. It always seems to put a smile on my face no matter what might be going on in our busy day to day lives. I am going to share with you some of my favorite Christmas lights in Newport Beach.

The first and foremost Christmas lights in Newport Beach to see is the "Boat Parade" starting on Wednesday, Dec. 14 and ends Sunday Dec. 18. The parade starts off Bay Island at 6:30pm and finishes at the same site around 9:00pm. If you have not experienced this yet it is a must. Residents of Newport Beach prepare for this months in advance and spare no expenses. Grab some hot chocolate from one of the cute kids selling around the island and just stroll along the island, there is plenty to see. Even the houses are all decorated with elaborate decor and more moving parts then a science experiment. Get there early because it definitely gets busy and parking gets hard to find. One trick I like to do is park at the Newport Hyatt and walk down, just to avoid all the traffic on the island. These are Christmas lights in Newport Beach you don't want to miss.

The next Christmas lights in Newport Beach I am going to share with you is a road trip. Yippee!!! Grab all the kids and pack the family in the car and check out these few houses that are worth going and seeing. First is the "Zimmerman" Christmas lights in Newport Beach. The house is located on 327 Sapphire Ave. Balboa Island, decked out with music to go along with all the lights and has all the glitz to go along. While you are down on Balboa Island, roam the streets and see what other houses have going on. Their is lots to see. Next drive on over to East side Costa Mesa and see 2249 Santa Ana. Don't forget Santa will be there from 7pm-9pm up until the 23rd. Then drive down Santa Ana to Lilac and cruise the neighborhoods and meander the cul de sacs. There are tons of Christmas lights in Newport Beach to see there. Just be careful that if you are driving to keep your eyes on the road and not the lights as there are lots of people walking. And last, if you are feeling adventurous take a drive down to Belmont Shores. It isn't Christmas lights in Newport Beach but it is only a 20 minute drive away. This is another great place to park the car and cruise the Island of Belmont Shores and check out all the beautiful lights. You wont be disappointed, and if you haven't done this drive it is definitely a must. Great for a date night as well.

With all the trouble in the market right now, I get asked all the time should I buy or rent in Newport Beach right now? My personal opinion is yes, what a great time to buy, if you can afford it. We have had record lows with interest rates, the prices on homes have come down significantly, and rents are only going up and continue to go up over the next five years at least! Take advantage of the foreclosures in Newport Beach and let the banks take the hit and let your wallet get fatter. There was a great study that was done by rismedia.com with some unexpected results. While you are reading these factors ask yourself, "should I buy or rent in Newport Beach", and see how you feel:

• Rising rents are forcing renters to outspend home owners on housing costs in Newport Beach, according to a new study.
• Since 2005, home owners housing expenses have climbed from 31.9 percent of their household budget to 33.2 percent in Newport Beach. On the other hand, in that same time period, renters expenses have jumped from 35.6 percent to 38.4 percent, according to the October CoreLogic U.S. Housing and Mortgage Trends.
• In the last 26 years, home owners have increased the amount they spend on household expenses by 12 percent while renters have increased it by 22 percent, according to the study.
• Earlier this month, Capital Economics economists noted that for the first time in 30 years the median monthly mortgage payment is about the same -- or less -- than the median rental payment in Newport Beach.

Newport Beach property on the peninsula can be very fun and exciting as well. There is always something going on, no matter what day of the week it is, especially summer. You can hop on your bike and go to one of the many watering holes, you can stroll the boardwalk, or go to one of the local events that's going on for that evening. If none of that sounds good, there is some great shopping at the local boutiques. It's a tight community where everybody knows one another.

Now if you would like to have Newport Beach property in Newport Heights, there is a bit more privacy there. It's like your standard neighborhood with lots of charm. Very unique properties sit across from one another. You will not find two house that look alike. Newport Beach property in Newport height is also a great place to raise a family with lots of events planned for the kids no matter the holiday.

Last but not least you have Newport Beach property in Newport Coast. This is a large planned community. The majority of the property here sits on big lots, and the community is only about 15 years old. Newport Coast is much newer then everything else. Your neighbors are far from you and this community defiantly has the most privacy. You have some amazing views of the ocean, not much of the harbor like you do being on the peninsula or Newport beach property in the Heights.

No matter where you want to live on Newport Beach property, there is something for everybody. Whether you want to be a bike ride away from the ngiht life or be in the mix of everything like on the peninsula. No matter what Newport Beach property you decide on you won't be disappointed. INFO THAT HITS US WHERE WE LIVE...Oneresult we care a lot about is a turnaround for new homes. Wehaven't attained it quite yet, with New Home Sales down 2.3% in August,at a 295,000 annual rate. This keeps them in the territorythey've occupied since May 2010, but there were some good signs inthe report. The inventory of new homes for sale fell to its lowestlevel on record. At the same time, the inventory of homes not yet startedwent up the most it has in nearly five years. Some economists say this may indicate home building is close toturning back up.

The FHFA index of prices for homes bought with conformingmortgages went UP 0.8% in July after a 0.7% hike in June. This key home price index is up 7.4%annually over the last three months, the fastest rate of increase sinceearly 2006. Standard& Poor's Case-Shiller Home Price Index was UP 0.9% in July for the fourth month in a row, although prices are still down versus last year. Finally, Pending Home Sales, measuring contracts on existing homes, were off 1.2% inAugust, dragged down by the hurricane and floods in the Northeast, but they're UP 7.7% year-over-year!

Foreclosures Down-This could also have to do with the foreclosure market being down 15% in the last 6 months. Banks are under alot of pressure from the government that bailed them out to work harder with home owners to be able to stay in there property and have a more affordable payment. In the past the banks have made it very difficult for home owners to qualify for loan modifications.
