Round Rock Gardens Fall Fest - Bring the kids!

The owners of Round Rock Gardens, Jeff and Stephanie Ramert would like to invite all residents to come out and enjoy their Fall Festival. This event will certainly be an enjoyable way to spend your Saturday from 4-7 and is destined to produce many "Kodak Moments."

While you are at the festival please buy some plants too! :) The Ramerts have a wonderful staff and they can assist you in finding just the right product for your lawn or educate you about which best plants are for best Texas weather. Make your Round Rock home beautiful with plants, pottery, and landscaping services from Round Rock Gardens.

Live Music, Hayrides, Pumpkin Decorating & the Gourd Hunt will be tons of fun! This is a FREE event. Sat. Oct. 24th 4-7 pm

On Saturday, October 24th, the "Great Pumpkin" will hide bushels of warty gourds at the Gourd Hunt at Round Rock Gardens. The event will be held rain or shine in the park-like setting of the nursery. The Gourd Hunt is FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Cameras are encouraged. There should be plenty of whimsical photo opportunities, as children may take home all of the gourds they can carry with 2 bare hands, which leads to some pretty ingenious methods of collection that are photo-worthy.
This assures that all children have a chance to gather plenty of gourds, regardless of the pace in which they hunt. It's like an Egg Hunt but with gourds. All you can carry!

Stiletto Stampede for the Cure

Today I had the pleasure of attending a luncheon hosted by Women Impacting the Nation in Round Rock, Texas. At the luncheon I learned about an incredible fundraiser coming in October that will benefit the Austin Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Michelle Patterson with Ideal Heals organized this event and deserves major kudos.

My Mother was diagnosed with Breast Cancer last year but it was caught very early due to diligence on her part and that of her doctors. She is now in remission and I do everything I can to support Susan G. Komen for the Cure. A portion of proceeds from each home that I sell is donated to Komen in order to help find a cure for breast cancer and save the lives of our mothers, daughters, cousins, aunts, sisters, and friends.

On October 4th at 2PM at the Hill Country Galleria the Stiletto Stampede for the Cure will take place. There will be four different heats of 100 yards each. Heat 1 features Cancer Survivors. Heat 2 features a High Heel Dash. Heat 3 is for families (and strollers) where Moms and Dads will wear heels and race the 100 yards. Finally, heat 4 will feature a High Heel Dash in Costume!

Immediately following the Stampede Dillard's will offer makeovers, educational seminars, a fashion show, and prizes! The purpose of this event is to raise awareness amongst the younger women and men so they understand more about Breast Cancer in order to help prevent deaths through early detection, educational seminars, and how to self-check.

To register for the Stiletto Stampede please visit: www.StilettoStampede4theCure.org Cost is $30 plus online fee. All race participants receive shirt, pair of Ideal Heels, goodies, and educational material.

If you cannot attend the event but wish to donate please make your donation payable to Austin Community Foundation and include "Stiletto Stampede Fund" in the memo line. Mail to: Austin Community Foundation P.O. Box 5159, Austin, TX 78763

Please support this great cause and fun event so we can reduce the number of women and men that lose their lives to Breast Cancer every year. By the way, if you haven't seen the Ideal Heel you need to check it out! Never ruin your Stilettos in the mud and prevent scrapes and scuffs. AWESOME!
