I just received a call from a title company that ordered a Septic Test for my buyer on a property that goes to settlement in 2 weeks. The septic companies are tired of getting stiffed for payment from deals falling apart and will no longer release the results until payment is received by the buyer or seller! Of course, all they will say is there are issues! Now we have to scramble to get payment to them quickly (hopefully via credit card) so we can get the results to the seller and get it rectified before settlement.
All I can say is it would be nice to deal with reputable companies that would tell you this up front two weeks ago when they scheduled it. Instead they told the buyer if they would use other services from them, they would make arrangements. Needless to say, the title company and all of my Realtor Associates will know not to use this one company in particular. Honesty is always the best policy!
