German company to build area's largest solar field in Wyandot County

In the Toledo Blade September 11, 2009 was a new article about a German company  which is a subsidiary of Juwi Solar Inc that has constructed hundreds of solar fields in Europe and Africa. Click here for that article.

It seems that this plant will only hire a handful of people, however in the Blade Article it explains that they will be using 165,000 panels from First Solar Inc which is the born in Toledo now based in Arizona, solar panel plant in Perrysburg Township, Ohio.

The reason for my blog is to acquaint you with the Solar Panel industry in the Toledo and Northwest Ohio area. 

Being an active RE/MAX Realtor in the area I am thrill to hear about new industry coming to our area.  We definitely have the workforce, we are very accessible to the railroad lines, the Great Lakes, the I80 Turn Pike, and our wonderful airport with very clear airspace.  What more could you ask for. 

Sorry for sounding like I am on my soapbox but I love this area and the people who live here.  It is time for industry to know what a hidden ‘gold mine’ we have here just waiting to be discovered.

Cedar Point Earns 'best' amusement park title!!!

I picked up the newspaper today and read this article. You go Cedar Point!!!

If you would like to read this article click here. I was lucky enough to go to Cedar Point this last summer with my kids. My children are all older and I went on almost every roller coaster in the park. I used to be able to say "I'll stay with the little kids, you go ahead" . Not this time. I have to admit it was exilarating.

Researching this park for this blog I found out Cedar Point is planning a new Water Ride that is costing close to 10 million dollars! There are 2 different Blade articles about this new ride. Click here and here.

More great news for the Toledo Ohio Area! Solar energy firms have decided to make solar panels in the Toledo Area. Another article out today in the Toledo Blade - click here to read-which states that a small group of veterans of Toledo's glass and solar-panel industries is setting up shop in Perrysburg, Ohio.

More and more articles like this are great news to the Greater Toledo area economy and real estate world. This Toledo Blade article by Gary T. Pakulski states "that the firm Willard & Kelsey Solar Group LLC hopes to hire 400 employees by the end of 2009. Hiring will be handled by the Wood County Department of Job and Family Services. Willard & Kelsey is seeking $100 million in federal stimulus money to support a proposed $1.2 billion solar-panel manufacturing park in Perrysburg that it claims will create nearly 3,700 jobs. "

This is all great news for Toledo. The article also states another firm, Xunlight Corp., plans to begin production in Toledo, and a unit of German solar giant Q-Cells AG has a research operation in Perrysburg.
