I have been on a hiatus of sorts trying to sort out what I am going to do in the real estate area. I realize that my interest is in the technological side of things. I have been helping people with their web sites and SEO (Search engine Optimization) and SEM (Search Engine Marketing). Getting them set up with blogs, eFlyers and social networking such as. All of which I've done, for example: (http://www.wilfredjoseph.com, http://www.nfbba.org and http://www.arborviewhouse.com) and others. To really see the benefits of the use of technology in marketing your business you have to find what works for you and stick with it, master it then move on to the item and then master that. I found lots of resistance to these changes here on the North Fork. I found Realtors that were not willing to use the simplest tools that are available even on their MLS systems. I feel that I can contribute in this area, I like the challenge and get excited about automation.
HANFRA (The Hamptons and North Fork Realtor's Association) has just released the first quarter 2008 report. It shows the comparison for the last five years. The report is interesting in that even though unit sales have dropped dramatically the median prices are holding steady. the results are quite surprising considering the news that we are getting. We'll have to see what the third quarter shows. http://hanfra.com/market-report-1q-08.pdf.pdf
