I have to blog about this because it just sounds too cute! There is a new party venue for girls! Sweet and Sassy also opens this week and has three giveaways planned. One is a runway party for 8 girls complete with a ride in the Sweet & Sassy signature pink limousine (13 mile radius) valued at $444! The 2nd package is Diva for a Day valued at $70 and the third is Glittery Glam Express Package, valued at $25.
Last but not least, I have to blog about the opening of Ted's Montanna Grill because my eldest son will be working there for the summer saving for college! He's excited and tells us that all food comes in fresh, never frozen, restaurant is eco friendly, they have bison (I'm not brave but I'm told it's really good- leaner than beef). So, go ask for Brandon!
See you there! Sherry and Maria
While we are REALLY looking forward to The Avenue Forsyth coming to Forsyth County, we do not believe, as another local blogger said, that Forsyth was simply "trailer parks" just years ago! The Forsyth County government and Chamber of Commerce have made exceptional strides in growing the county, and in fact, are conscious of the fact that we may be growing too fast, as evidence by their residential building moratoriums. We're impressed with and commend the local government and chamber of commerce on their continued steady growth and work towards commercial and other business development. They have worked hard to attract businesses from around the world, now landed the largest Avenue venue in the Atlanta area and have approved a new traditional but upscale mall said to compete with Lenox Mall in Atlanta. This will literally be down the street from The Avenue at exit 12 and GA 400- Union Hill area.
Great job to all of our Forsyth County officials that have worked on these improvements and school growth, that in our opinion has kept up with population growth better than North Fulton did in their "high population growth" years. They are also planning for greenspace for parks and plan to continue the Alpharetta Greenway along Ronald Reagan Blvd that runs parrallel to GA 400. A plan of this can be found on the forsyth county website.
We look forward to what's next...
Alpharetta was named as one of the BEST places to buy a home recently at CNNMONEY.com (100 Best Series). Alpharetta ranked in the top six suburbs across the US as the Best place to buy. This area is more likely to have an increase in home prices over the next 12 months (instead of decreases). You can find this information documented in the "Best places to buy a home" section of CNNMoney.com.
Alpharetta was also considered to be one of the top 6 suburbs to be resistent to recession. That's GREAT news for both BUYERS and SELLERS in the Alpharetta area.
Average home price $359,950 recorded by CNNMoney.com in the article.
What does this report mean to you? If you are planning to sell your home this Spring/Summer - you are in good shape. If you are a buyer - you will feel more comfortable knowing that you are purchasing in an area that is increasing in property values.

New updates about the Avenue of Forsyth:
According to Elizabeth at the Chocolaterie (http://www.thechocolate.com), some of the stores at the Avenue of Forsyth will be opening on Wednesday, April 30th in time for Mother's Day shopping. "The Chocolaterie" (like Choco-lottery) will be one of the stores to get a head-start with opening early on April 30th. They are giving away petite boxes of GODIVA chocolates with purchase for the event that day.
If you happen to stop by on April 30th and find the store you want to visit is not opened, just remember that the official ribbon-cutting ceremony is May 14th, and the Grand Opening Celebration with ALL the bells and whistles is Saturday, May 17th.
