Following the Tree Lighting the Rockville Centre Historical Society invites residents to the Captain's House, also called the Phillips House Museum at 28 Hempstead Aenue for mulled cider, cookies and Christmas carols with Greg Ryan.

Today is Shop Small Business Saturday. It is a great opportunity to support the local business's that support your community. These are the people who employ local workers. The people who support the local chariites and advertise in local papers. The people who live in your community and most likely support your business.
Some local small business owners are offering some great discounts and even awarding gift cards for shopping in their shops today.
I promise if you shop the local stores you will not have to get up at midnight. You will not have to camp out in a tent in November (crazy people). You will not have to run for your life to avoid being trampled and most importantly you will almost certainly not get pepper sprayed.
What more could you ask for. Actually shopping in peace, Lord have mercy.

This Saturday is Small Business Day. I think this is a spin off of Black Friday. It is a great idea because it is a day to shop the small business's in the area.
Small business owners have a vested interest in the community. They hire local people, support local charities, know their customers and usually live in the area. Small business's are really the back bone of America.
Some local Rockville Centre business's that are participating in Small Business Day are:
Art Flower & Gift Shoppe, Maple Avenue Dance Shop, Jeannine's Gift & Accessories, Eden Total Skin Care, Kids Cottage, Accent on Eyes and Flaxman Furniture.
Remember to support your local small business owners.
