We are so lucky to live in a great community, surrounded by the beautiful Palouse and have our kids attend the best schools. Pullman School District, one of the best in our area, is constantly acheiving and surpassing their goals on the academic and athletic front. The 2007-2008 Annual Report Card is readily available for all Pullman Residents or anyone interested in relocating to our area. No need to spell out the information specifically. Let me direct you to their site...it's easy to find! Visit the Pullman School District website at http://www.psd267.wednet.edu/ for all types of information from school pictures and locations to weekly school lunches for the district. It even gives you info on how to purchase Pullman School Gear and a way to keep in contact about grades...good stuff!
Calling all Pullman, WA and Moscow , ID Residents!! Dash, the resident Pullman/Moscow Airport Siamese Cat, is looking for a home. How many of us have been to the Pullman/Moscow Airport and rushed in, retrieved our ticket and sat down when we've been greeted by Dash, the Cat. It looks like Dash will not be allowed in the airport anymore due to concerns that it could cause health issues for some of the passenger...so now we need to find Dash a home. It's sad for travellers, employees and guests of the Airport as we have come to enjoy the playful gestures brought on by this cute cat. We have to appreciate the time Dash has given us and now we can return the favor by finding a family that will take care of this playful, sweet animal. If anyone out there is interested in giving this special feline a home, please contact the Pullman/Moscow Airport and ask about a home for Dash.
Pullman, WA..the snow and frigid weather are still here! Many of us are wishing that Spring would get here, but we'll have to wait. I'm looking outside and watching the weather person on TV talk about the below freezing weather that will hit our area yet again tonight. Yikes! With winter still here, it's important to have houses winterized. To avoid costly plumbing problems, especially frozen pipes, many experts recommend wrapping water pipes, and even letting water drip from faucets that connect to outdoor pipes. Watch your roof and make sure that extreme amounts of snow and ice do not collect on the surface. It's easier to get the snow off of the roof now than to have the structure of the roof compromised. Check the exterior of your home and make sure that exterior walls, especially those facing the North, don't have prolonged contact with ice and snow. This according to professionals like Rick Krug of TG's Carpet and Restoration Services. The damage and costs incurred by Winter can be very high. Take the time to winterize your home! Spring is hopefully around the corner.
Tomorrow is Inauguration Day. As a nation, we look forward to this day for many special reasons. For me, it is the day our new President, Barack Obama, takes office, our nation comes together in celebration, and my seven year old daughter is able to watch and remember this grand event. She has been talking about it for weeks now as her teacher and class have discussed the upcoming day. And with today's holiday honoring Dr. Martin Luther King almost over, I smile as I remember her interest and comments at the dinner table. She commented on the unfairness the African-Americans experienced and spoke of how Dr King struggled to make our nation a better place. She watched the news eagerly and listened to the news anchor list the schedule for tomorrows special day and she earnestly spoke of how proud President-elect Obama's daughters must be of their dad. And I just smiled....I am so proud of my daughter and I am so proud of my country. I can't wait for tomorrow!
