Are you currently selling a home? Is the weather in your area becoming colder by the day? Well, there are things you need to know to have your home ready for the winter months that are quickly coming upon us.
1. Keep your the thermostat set at a temperature of at least 62 degrees. When it is ice cold in the house, it is ice cold in the eyes of the potential buyer. There have been many times when buyers have asked to leave because the house was too cold to preview.
2. Make sure the landscaping has been set for winter. If possible, make sure the front and back yard is cleaned up. Although there won't be bright flowers to add curb appeal, a clean, well kept yard draws the buyer to come inside and take a look.
3. Make sure cobwebs and bugs are swept up and gone. Having bug remnants are neer appealing.
4. Add a touch of staging! Suggestions would include framed art, kitchen pieces, bath towels and even faux greenery. It adds warmth to a home.
5. And last but not least, make sure the driveway and sidewalks are cleaned and snow shoveled if necessary. Potential buyer need to be able to walk to the front of the house to get into it!

The lights are out! Another HALLOWEEN in the book. It's quiet once again in Pullman, WA, but it wasn't long ago that that groups of children walked along each other, stopping at each door in the hopes of receiving a treat when they knocked on the door. Little witches, strong firemen, scary scarecrows and sweet princessess came to the doors in our neighborhood.
At my home a cute 50's girl smiled as I took her pictures. She had her poodle skirt one, a red scarf in her hair and cat eyes glasses to finish the look. It is now quiet in my home as she is fast asleep, worn out after a couple of hours of "Trick or Treating". 
I just checked in on her. She is fast asleep, her candy in a large bowl on the kitchen counter, and a sweet smile on her face. Happy Halloween to all! I hope it was just as much fun for you as it was for me! What will she want to dress up like next year?
I love this time of year. Fall to me is the best season with the radiant colors, the crisp mornings and the warm afternoons when the sun shines brightly. I took this picture from my deck looking out onto my backyard. The bright colors in contrast with the golden fields made me smile and remember why this is the best time of the year in Pullman WA.
We are extremely lucky in Pullman WA. We have great schools that rank consistently in the top of the state, the parents are very involved and the children enjoy being in school immensely.
Much of that I believe is due to the teachers, the administration and the School Board that we have in Pullman WA. There is a lot of time given by these dedicated individuals wanting to contribute to the ovearall state of our education in our community.
In looking for general information about our school district, I found the Key Functions of Pullman School Board. They exemplify what the board is about and it gives a good understanding to parents and students alike to know what their responsibilities are.
Attached are the Key Functions. If you have children that attend any of the schools in the Pullman School District, take the time to review these functions. You'll be glad you did!
With the start of School tomorrow for the Pullman School District, the hustle and bustle of our children and parents begin! It's a wonderful time of year but a busy one! Gone are the days of lounging at the lake, or taking strolls through our downtown area. It's the time to get back on schedule!
Not only are our kids on schedule, but we as parents are too! We are the drivers, the task masters and the supporters for our households. That is why it is extremely important to have an up to date Academic Calender at your disposal to review as the year passes.
