The City of Palm Coast bought the Palm Harbor Golf Club in 2007 and re-opened the course for play November 8, 2009. The course has seen many changes & improvements and is open to the public without club membership requirements. Palm Coast residents receive a discounted rate. The Washington Oaks Gardens State Park off A1A in Flagler County recently was listed on the National Register of Historic Places and designated a Historic District for the period of 1937 to 1965. The Historic District encompasses 21 acres of the 389 acres National Park. During the recent celebration a new gift shop opened in one of the old re-furbished buildings. Marineland, in Northern Flagler County received the Historic designation in 1986. Improvements at the Daytona international Speedway for the Daytona 500
Construction has started to add an interactive fan area outside Turn 3 It is expected to be completed in time for the Daytona 500. Current plans call for a go-kart track, play area, Ferris Wheel, and a fan hospitality area.
Also under construction is phase one of the frontstretch renovation on the old dog track property behind the Keech and Lockhart Grandstands that will add two additional gate entrances and improved landscaping and lighting. The Daytona Beach Tennis center will host the USTA Junior Team Tennis Summer Section Championship on August 6, 2010 to August 8, 2010. This makes the first time this tournament is to be held at the 24 Court Tennis Center since it opened in 2001. Winners will compete in the National Tournament. Through the Daytona Beach Area Association of Realtors Multiple Listing Service (MLS) 4 condos sold in Ormond By The Sea Florida in October, 2009. That compares to 3 sales in both 2007 and 2008. None of the 2009 sales were foreclosures or short sales. At this rate of sales we have about 2 years worth of inventory of condos for sale in Ormond By Sea, Florida.
One sale was a 3 bedroom at Sand Dunes for $152,500 and the lowest sale was at Winchester manor for $82,000. There were 2 sales at $180,000, one at Seascape on the 5th floor and one at Ocean House on the 3rd floor. Both of those buildings feature secured entry, inside laundry, underground parking and more than 1150 sq. ft. of living area. Both units were in good condition and sold fully furnished.
