The Publix Supermarket in Ormond By The Sea, Florida is closed until next spring for expansion and renovations. Stores at the center and south end of the Ormond Mall, such as Bealls and The Dollar Store remain open. The Gourmet Kitchen in the mall north of the Publix remains closed. The Bagel store is the only business still open at the north end of the Ormond Mall.

Highbridge now open in Ormond By The Sea, Florida

Highbridge is now open in Ormond By The Sea, Florida The bridge over the Halifax River in Ormond By The Sea, Florida closed June 7, 2009 for repairs. Parts were ordered to complete the necessary repairs. The automatic open function of the bridge became inoperable following a lightning strike and was manually moved to the open position to allow river traffic to pass. As of this morning the bridge is now available for auto traffic. May 2009 Ormond By The Sea, Florida Condo Sales

Through the Daytona Beach Area Association of Realtors Multiple Listing Service (MLS) three condo sales closed in Ormond By The Sea, Florida during May 2009. All these sales were 2 bedroom 2 bath. A unit at the Regency Plaza (directly on the beach) sold for $169,000. Two of the sales were on the west side of A1A and the highest sold price for those was $128,000. Sale prices appear to be continuing to go lower although possibly at a slower pace. There are some foreclosures yet to hit the market and some of the units already on the market are selling below what the sellers originally paid.
