Pine Bush NY - An Interesting Distinction and A Village That Knows How To Have Fun

I have never personally seen it but the village of Pine Bush, NY, in addition to it'swonderful home town feeling and great location, has a distinction that may surprise some of you.   It appears that Pine Bush is the UFO Capital of the East.  Yes, it seems we are right up there with Sedona for UFO sightings. There is an interesting article on this from UFO Evidence.

Now our village has a lot of fun with this distinction.  The diner in town is named The Cup and Saucer.  My office, which hosts a Halloween Haunted House every year, used Aliens as a theme two years ago complete with huge saucers made of two old salelite TV dishes put together and an alien lounge with a band out back.  In fact this year's hugely successful American Cancer Society fundraiser the Relay for Life in town used a purple flying saucer for it's theme. Yes we did recycle the old saucer and paint it purple for the front yard again.  It is all in great fun.

I am not sure that I believe but I can tell you that my Pine Bush is a great place to live. It stands to reason if we are a great spot for our earthbound friends we might be worth a look by exterterestrials.  If you are not having fun where you live you should get out there and make some fun.  Or better yet call me to find out how you can move to this great place.

Pine Bush NY - A Village That Cares

Pine Bush is a quaint village within the Town of Crawford NY. Settled in the mid to late 1700's, the Town of Crawford was incorporated in 1832. The village of Pine Bush is the heart of the town. The picture below is a historical postcard view of a portion of Main Street. If you come to Pine Bush you will see many of the same buildings today, as a matter of fact my office is the building on the right. The village has done much to bring back that historic feeling by installing antique styled lighting along Main Street.

Pine Bush Post Card Historical

Located at the intersection of Route 302 and Route 52, Pine Bush is about 10 miles from Route 17 (future I-86) exit 119. It is about 68 miles from New York City. The village center has a wide variety of stores, quaint restaurants, pizza and fast food places, ice cream stands, a Bed and Breakfast, a motel, several small gyms, and gas stations. There is the post office, the Town of Crawford Public Library,
the Town of Crawford Historical Society, and more located on Main St (Route 52) or nearby. Saturday's bring a Farmer's Market to the village with special events, artists, and great fresh produce. Special events are staged in and around the village year round including a Spring Clean up, Relay for Life, Harvest Festival, a Halloween Night like you have never seen before, Holiday Tree Lighting, and so much more. This is a community that cares and everyone works together making it a great place to live and work.

Four of the schools of the Pine Bush Central School District are located in Pine Bush. There are two elementary schools, a middle school, and the high school. The Boys and Girls Club is active in after school programs and run the Town Day Camp every summer which provides summer entertainment for the area children. There are also active youth sporting programs, Boy and Girl Scouting programs, 4- H units, and many other opportunities for young people.

Within the village we have townhouses, single and two to four family homes on smaller village lots, and houses with more land located on the outskirts of the village. Homes are currently listed in the village of Pine Bush (July 2, 2008) at these prices:

Townhouses in the village are on the market for $225,000 to $250,000.
Single family village houses are available from $199,000 to $370,000.
Multi Family Village homes are listed between $350,000 and $600,000.
The 12 Bedroom 7.5 Bath Bed and Breakfast in Pine Bush is being marketed for $779,000.

There are options here in the Greater Hudson Valley of NY to meet everyone's needs. We have urban, suburban, village and rural locations that can provide you with the perfect blend of country for you. Working with an experienced buyer's agent can help you to choose what is best for you. If you are looking for a home in Orange, Ulster, or Sullivan County NY I would love to be your Buyer's Agent.
