This is a great clip from Bill O'Reilly really letting the Republican party know what the American People want now that the Democrats popularity is failing. Great points about the Parties and Obama's birth certificate. This is a important message that Republican in the Senate and the House need to hear. Now is the time for the Republicans to step up and get into the solution while the popularity is down for the Democrats. This is not about Obama Birth Certificate.
Enjoy!
Subject: Life in the 1500's

A home usually did not have a lot of chairs and beds, so a wooden board was used for sleeping at night, and, on trestles, as a dining table during the day.
So one could offer "Room and Board", to guests called "Boarders", to earn a few extra farthings. Thus, you had a "Boarding House".
The owner would sit at the head of the table in the only chair -- boarders were on rude benches, hence the owner was the "Chairman of the Board".
The owner would watch that diners kept their hands in sight during meals, so they could not use weapons concealed beneath the table. Thus the meal was "Open and Above Board"
Few people owned dishes or utensils, so each diner would be given a piece of flat bread called a trencher, which served as a plate. Those hungry men who also ate the trencher were called "Trenchermen".
Single women kept their hair tightly pinned up in public, until they were married. Some single women "let their hair down", these were called "loose women".
The few beds had no springs. Instead, they had ropes stretched tightly across a frame, on which was placed a straw mattress. These ropes tended to stretch with use, making for an uncomfortable sagging bed. So one would re-tighten the ropes to "Sleep Tight".
l
I'll bet you didn't know these tidbits
They used to use urine to tan animal skins, so families used to all pee in a pot & then once a day it was taken & sold to the tannery.......if you had to do this to survive you were "Piss Poor". But worse than that were the really poor folk who couldn't even afford to buy a pot...........they "didn't have a pot to piss in" & were the lowest of the low The next time you are washing your hands and complain because the water temperature isn't just how you like it, think about how things used to be. Here are some facts about the 1500s:
Most people got married in June because they took their yearly bath in May, and they still smelled pretty good by June.. However, since they were starting to smell . .. . brides carried a bouquet of flowers to hide the body odor. Hence the custom today of carrying a bouquet when getting married.
Baths consisted of a big tub filled with hot water. The man of the house had the privilege of the nice clean water, then all the other sons and men, then the women and finally the children. Last of all the babies. By then the water was so dirty you could actually lose > someone in it. Hence the saying, "Don't throw the baby out with the > bath water!"
Houses had thatched roofs-thick straw-piled high, with no wood underneath. It was the only place for animals to get warm, so all the cats and other small animals (mice, bugs) lived in the roof. When it rained it became slippery and sometimes the animals would slip and fall off the roof. Hence the saying "It's raining cats and dogs."
There was nothing to stop things from falling into the house. This posed a real problem in the bedroom where bugs and other droppings could mess up your nice clean bed. Hence, a bed with big posts and a sheet hung over the top afforded some protection. That's how canopy beds came into existence.
The floor was dirt. Only the wealthy had something other than dirt. Hence the saying, "Dirt poor." The wealthy had slate floors that would get slippery in the winter when wet, so they spread thresh (straw) on floor to help keep their footing. As the winter wore on, they added more thresh until, when you opened the door, it would all start slipping outside. A piece of wood was placed in the entrance-way. Hence, " a threshold".
(Getting quite an education, aren't you?)
In those old days, they cooked in the kitchen with a big kettle that always hung over the fire.. Every day they lit the fire and added things to the pot. They ate mostly vegetables and did not get much meat. They would eat the stew for dinner, leaving leftovers in the pot to get cold overnight and then start over the next day. Sometimes stew had food in it that had been there for quite a while. Hence the rhyme: Peas porridge hot, peas porridge cold, peas porridge in the pot nine days old.
Sometimes they could obtain pork, which made them feel quite special. When visitors came over, they would hang up their bacon to show off. It was a sign of wealth that a man could, "bring home the bacon." They would cut off a little to share with guests and would > all sit around and "chew the fat".
Those with money had plates made of pewter. Food with high acid content caused some of the lead to leach onto the food, causing lead poisoning death. This happened most often with tomatoes, so for the next 400 years or so, tomatoes were considered poisonous.
Bread was divided according to status. Workers got the burnt bottom of the loaf, the family got the middle, and guests got the top, or the "upper crust".
Lead cups were used to drink ale or whisky. The combination would > sometimes knock the imbibers out for a couple of days. Someone walking along the road would take them for dead and prepare them for burial. They were laid out on the kitchen table for a couple of days and the family would gather around and eat and drink and wait and see if they would wake up. Hence the custom of holding a "wake".
England is old and small and the local folks started running out of places to bury people. So they would dig up coffins and would take the bones to a bone-house, and reuse the grave. When reopening these coffins, 1 out of 25 coffins were found to have scratch marks on the inside and they realized they had been burying people alive. So they would tie a string on the wrist of the corpse, lead it through the coffin and up through the ground and tie it to a bell. Someone would have to sit out in the graveyard all night (the graveyard shift.) to listen for the bell; thus, someone could be "saved by the bell" or was considered a "dead ringer"...
And that's the truth...Now, whoever said History was boring ! ! !

"...A parable? Once upon a time, I was invited to the White House for a private dinner with the President. I am a respected businessman, with a factory that produces memory chips for computers and portable electronics.
There was some talk that my industry was being scrutinized by the administration, but I paid it no mind. I live in a free country. There's nothing that the government can do to me if I've broken no laws. My wealth was earned honestly, and an invitation to dinner with an American President is an honor.
I checked my coat, was greeted by the Chief of Staff, and joined the President in a yellow dining room. We sat across from each other at a table draped in white linen. The Great Seal was embossed on the china.
Uniformed staff served our dinner. The meal was served, and I was startled when my waiter suddenly reached out, plucked a dinner roll off my plate, and began nibbling it as he walked back to the kitchen. "Sorry about that," said the President, "Andrew is very hungry."
"I don't appreciate...," I began, but as I looked into the calm brown eyes across from me, I felt immediately guilty and petty. It was just a dinner roll. "Of course," I concluded, and reached for my glass. Before I could, however, another waiter reached forward, took the glass away and swallowed the wine in a single gulp.
"And his brother, Eric, is very thirsty," said the President. I didn't say anything. The President is testing my compassion, I thought. I will play along. I don't want to seem unkind.
My plate was whisked away before I had tasted a bite. "Eric's children are also quite hungry." With a lurch, I crashed to the floor. My chair had been pulled out from under me. I stood, brushing myself off angrily, and watched as it was carried from the room.
"And their grandmother can't stand for long." I excused myself, smiling outwardly, but inside feeling like a fool. Obviously I had been invited to the White House to be sport for some game. I reached for my coat, to find that it had been taken. I turned back to the President. "Their grandfather doesn't like the cold." I wanted to shout -- that was my coat! But again, I looked at the placid smiling face of my host and decided I was being a poor sport.
I spread my hands helplessly and chuckled. Then I felt my hip pocket and realized my wallet was gone. I excused myself and walked to a phone on an elegant side table. I learned shortly that my credit cards had been maxed out, my bank accounts emptied, my retirement and equity portfolios had vanished, and my wife had been thrown out of our home. Apparently, the waiters and their families were moving in. The President hadn't moved or spoken as I learned all this, but finally I lowered the phone into its cradle and turned to face him.
"Andrew's whole family has made bad financial decisions. They haven't planned for retirement, and they need a house. They recently defaulted on a sub-prime mortgage. I told them they could have your home. They need it more than you do." My hands were shaking. I felt faint. I stumbled back to the table and knelt on the floor.
The President cheerfully cut his meat, ate his steak and drank his wine. "By the way," he added, "I have just signed an Executive Order nationalizing your factories. I'm firing you as head of your business. I'll be operating the firm now for the benefit of all mankind. There's a whole bunch of Eric's and Andrew's out there and they can't come to you for jobs groveling like beggars."
I looked up. The President dropped his spoon into the empty dish which had been his Creme Brulee. He drained the last drops of his wine. As the table was cleared, he lit a cigarette and leaned back in his chair. He stared at me.
I clung to the edge of the table as if were a ledge and I were a man hanging over an abyss. I thought of the years behind me, of the life I had lived. The life I had earned with a lifetime of work, risk and struggle. Why was I punished? How had I allowed it to be taken? What game had I just played ... and lost?
What had I done wrong?
As if answering the unspoken thought, the President suddenly cocked his head, locked his empty eyes to mine, and bared a million beautiful white teeth, chuckling wryly as he folded his hands.
"You are a total idiot," he said. "You should have stopped me at the dinner roll..." If you do not see the moral to this parable -- you, too, are an idiot! " Author Anonymous
I was thinking about a class I just left on the end times telling us that we have about 8-18 yrs. left before the prophecy is fulfilled after they build the Temple in Jerusalem.
What if this is the only chance we get to stop this agenda and the last time we have the freedom to pass this on and tell each other to stand up and say "NO" to our representatives in Congress and the Senate!
Let them hear from you now, Wake the Americans or save the sorrow for your wake! Why I put this out here is not to criticize our Current Government or for us to not submit to their authority.
God picks our leaders for whatever lessons he wants us to learn. The Rulers and Leaders God has put in place are a variety of Good and Evil in history.
I believe that America has fallen from Greed and it is still running rampant through our Government. We can change that in the power of pray. Nothing is stronger..If you are a non-believer , doubting Thomas like I am just give it a try.
God has saved me when I was down to my last dollar, which I grudging gave to tithe. No one knew my situation because I was too prideful to let anyone know a Realtor was poor. I had my reputation to up hold...God has since humbled me. I also noticed that the woman who gave me the check was struggling with her checks. The next minute a woman I met once only knew my first name sitting next to me gives me a check for $100.00 and says Mary, God hears your prayers. God wants you to know he hears you, Mary. SInce that day God has prospered me and he will prosper America if we listen to his heart.
On a side note,A few months later as we became friends I asked her what she was doing before she gave me the check. She told me, I had 2 checks and God was telling me to give you the bigger check but I did not want to so I was struggling with this. I wanted to give you the smaller one and the bigger one to the Church..
God is amazing how he works in our hearts if we listen to him. He speaks softly and so our Leaders must listen to the small voice too. I have found that is usually God's voice.
We are to pray for these leaders to have their hearts turn away from greed and let God open their eyes and change their hearts from any greed that is not for the good of the people , all people in the United States. Pray that the Corporate Executives that have given themselves great bonus's fall to their knees and repent and may God change their hearts and they return that money to the people that they have stolen it from.
That it will not go to developing more government agencies but save the people of America. That it will not be wasted at $1000.00 a piece on signs saying this is from the stimulus bill. They are going to waste money on over thousands of signs in the Millions to let you know about these projects..Does God want us to spend our money on such wasteful spending and outrageous prices that our stealing from the People. I think not.
We must pray that all the money flowing into this administration will flow back out just as fast to the needy people that have lost their homes, lost their jobs and lost their hope that God wants us to prosper.
Let them not hold on to this Trillion Dollar deficit but to seek God and do his will, In Jesus' Name!
Makes you wonder what good things will be blessing in America 20 years from now?

TO THOSE BORN 1920-1979
READ TO THE BOTTOM FOR QUOTE OF THE MONTH BY JAY LENO . IF YOU DON'T READ ANYTHING ELSE---VERY WELL STATED, IT IS SAD THAT OUR CHILDREN ARE NOT GETTING THE EXERCISE THEY NEED AND FRESH AIR THAT WE ALL DID...I HAVE BEEN IMPRESSED WITH MY CLIENTS FROM THE PACIFIC RIM LATELY, OUR SCHOOLS ARE NUMBER ONE IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA . ALL OF MY NEW CLIENTS THAT ARE FIRST GENERATION HERE ARE NOT ALLOWING THEIR CHILDREN TO WATCH CABLE TV, PLAY VIDEO GAMES JUST READ...NOW IF THEY ADD FRESH AIR AND EXERCISE TO THE MIX WE MAY BE BACK ON TRACK!
Here is a great piece I received that is both passing on again.
"TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED the 1930's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's!!
First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant.
They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes .
Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-based paints.
We had no child proof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking..
As infants & children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, booster seats, seat belts or air bags.
Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat.
We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle.
We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this.
We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank Kool-aid made with sugar, but we weren't overweight because,
WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!
We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.
No one was able to reach us all day. And we were OK.
We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.
We did not have Play stations, Nintendo 's, X-boxes, no video games at all,no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's, no cell phones, no personal computers, no Internet or chat rooms.......
WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!
We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents.
We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.
We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and although we were told it would happen, we did not poke out very many eyes.
We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them!
Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!
The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!
These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever!
The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.
We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL!
If YOU are one of them CONGRATULATIONS!
You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives for our own good .
While you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave (and lucky) their parents were.
