How many of you used to have tea parties when you were younger? It was always one of my favorite past times and dressing up for such occasions made them seem even more grown-up and whimsical. Big floppy hats, dresses that were too long, my mothers high heels, old make-up discarded was the perfect finish. We looked like little versions of our mothers and aunts. My cousins who were of the male persuasion would stare at my three sisters and I dumb struck. They didn’t understand the tea party and thought it silly and kept their distance.
Little adult miniatures drinking lukewarm tea with sugar cubes. How we loved making a big show of picking up the sugar cubes with our little tongs and dropping them into the teacups. Sometimes my grandmother made homemade bread and jam for our tea parties. It doesn’t get any better than that.
When I saw this brick building with the teapot sign in front of it….nostalgia came rushing back. I immediately stepped inside and was bombarded by the smell of tea. Oh heaven. I looked around and was shocked at how big it was on the inside. They have 3 separate dining rooms all unique in decor. They have a full menu and over 40 different teas.

I looked for a sign stating business hours, but there wasn’t one. Three ladies own this quaint building and they are Barbara Obermeyer, Judy Rusch, & Rebecca Aaake.

They also have a gift shop inside filled with things little girls and women alike would squeal in delight over! I can’t wait to go back with some friends and have an old fashioned tea party, but what I am most excited about is taking my daughter there. She loved tea parties as much as I did when she was a little girl and forced all her cousins and aunts and uncles to have them whenever it struck her fancy. I think she will appreciate this discovery the most.

Audrey ZurmuehlenInviting SpaceBio and Mission
It is my goal is to provide the home seller, real estate agent, and builder the competitive edge by designing a warm, welcoming and inviting space that captivates home buyers and home sellers alike. Through staging and redesign we will create a positive emotional attachment that buyers will find irresistible…a compelling reason to buy your home!
I am amazed that home staging is still a best kept secret’ in the real estate market in the St. Louis area. Considering the statistics that partnering with a professional Home Stager as part of your overall marketing plan will not only help you to sell your property 3 times faster and for at least 6% more, how can it be a secret? Regardless of the real estate market, home staging is a profitable investment.
Professional staging is preparing your home for sale to increase your profit and reduce the time on the market. The job of a home stager is to create a visual showcase of your home. We accentuate the positive and down play anything that might be less than spectacular. There is a big difference between a home that is clean and one that has been professionally staged.
My company, Inviting Space, has developed expertise in vacant home staging as well as having successful experience in enhancing occupied properties using our redesign skills. St Louis is such a wonderful area with many diverse and unique neighborhoods. Each home has a personality of its own. We can see this, maximize the potential and stage a home to become the one that buyers fall in love with on the spot!
