This post is not everything you wanted to know, but let me tell you after being with the bank for some time now - There are some do's and don'ts that you might want to think about and also educate your clients in regards to.

We have been here before this REO market and will remain after (God willing - a bit of my Humble Pie Eating showing). We are not so "traditional" and understand that our business depends on how the "industry" at large views our work ethic and how we operate our business. Having said that, we invest a lot of time speaking with other agents and by answering their questions. We do call back and verify receipt of offers submitted. If we have a piece missing we call to check up on it before submittal to the Bank. (I know that you have probably experienced something quite different if you have representing Clients that are wanting to purchase Foreclosures and REO's.)
We have not been spoiled and know what operating a True Real Estate Business is all about.
The balance necessary to attempt to keep everyone happy is a difficult process to say the least. However, we have, to date, done a great job. Let me know if you have any questions and I am sure I missed other items - Please respond so we can all grow stronger by the sharing.

It has been nice getting on the beginning of this REO market and working directly with Asset Managers that have been assigned to our banks and in the handling of their properties.
Paris and I have been able to develop some really strong relationships and friends forevermore. Soon, however, for any new contacts and future accounts the "automation" monster will rule every file and asset.
I am anticipating that this system will be easier and less time consuming to all parties. But I will miss the personal contact and conversations that we have enjoyed in the past. I am not trying to sound like a "Emotional Emily", but life is definitely too short not to stop and smell the flowers for days on end.
This market has been a curse to a lot of my colleagues out there in the Real Estate Agent Bracket - I am thankful each and every day for the Banks utilizing our services in the handling of their distresses properties.
We Continue to Push Forward in the application of our Relationsl Business Model due to this market being so very cyclic - We have our Clients and their needs at our center, Whether our Client is Asset Manager, Bank, Investment Co. or Private Person - We are about the GREATER GOOD and thier Happiness!

If you were to ask a room full of agents if they ever thought that they would be in this just for the short term. They would most all respond that is not how they are viewing their business. But their actions dictate differently.
Some REO agents have just come about due to this current market. But they are not doing everything necessary to use this springboard to keep their business growing over the years following this Foreclosure Market.
So with both types of agents, those that were before the current REO market and the ones that are just being made due to this REO market, I would place a bit of attention to them rethinking their operations.
Nothing lasts forever, and just because you are on top currently - I would ask you to take a piece of humble pie and eat it as well. I am very comfortable with "life" being snuffed out at any moment. I could just be typing this post and have something in my brain detach causing me to be finished.
( I would just hope my wife would press the enter button )!!!
I suppose that was the result of being with the LAPD so long and a Current Reserve. Things do not last forever, and I am one that thinks that we should embrace each and every moment with every ounce of love and compassion we can muster.
So if you take that approach with your business, you will see after a short time, that you will be having contacts present themselves out of no where. Because they see that you not only preach it, you practice it in everything you say and do. You become the example of Being Thankful.
Everyone likes Positive and Thankful people.
We are finally networked. Our staff all communicates via a shared folder. - The REO clients are starting to demand a paperless solution. When doing BPO's and plugging in pictures, there is nothing like having multiple monitors and the computer to drive them. A Quad video card is necessary to accomplish this feat.
After you conquer that monster - Then everything else falls into place. What you cannot see in the picture is the other monitor we have facing the client. So when they are in our offices and we are going through com-parables or properties that might be of interest to the, they have a monitor of their own to view. This is also extremely helpful when reviewing contracts as well.
Just make sure that what you are viewing, you don't mind them seeing. You can do this with a Video generator box - If you are a one monitor type, then you can have a second facing away and have it mirror what is being displayed on your monitor. You can get an additional wireless mouse and give the client the control over what is being clicked on. You just sit back and relax while they drive.
Just a couple of tid bits to share that might help you become more productive. Also, don't forget time is something that only have a certain amount of. So we might want to make the most use of what we have.

Who's sees your data in this case - Me and Me alone - No one else. Comforting right? That is the scoop.
