In my world "MILWAUKEE" means the metro area - the five counties that comprise Metro Milwaukee. That would include Milwaukee, Waukesha, Washington, Ozaukee and Racine counties. Slightly farther fringe counties also include Dodge, Jefferson and Walworth. Having been born and raised here, and living most of my life (so far) here makes me sort of an expert on "Living and Working in Milwaukee" . To "outsiders" Milwaukee has an image of a stodgy, old fashioned small town, beer brewing blue collar city - think "Laverne and Shirley". In reality Milwaukee and surrounding communities in Waukesha County, Ozaukee County and Washington County comprise a very upbeat and evolving urban environment, Heck, we even have Starbucks! Seriously, Milwaukee boasts some world-class amenities such as the Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee County Public Parks System, of course our jewel... Lake Michigan, Miller Park, the beautiful new home of the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team, the fabulous Milwaukee County Zoo and much, much more. Our blog will be dedicated to life and work in the Metro Milwaukee area. Some visitors to Milwaukee have expressed alarm and dismay when entering the city via General Mitchell International Airport (the "International" part of that is kind of funny when you see the teminal - not your typical big city airport). If your first impression of our city is the airport, please don't run - stay and find the more evolved features and I promise you will love it here!

One of the perrennial favorites is Summerfest - billed as the WORLD'S LARGEST MUSIC FESTIVAL! Held at the Heny Maier Festival Grounds - named after a long term mayor from the 60's and 70's - along the lovely lakefront just south of downtown, this 10 day music extravaganza draws hundred of thousand of visitors during it's annual 10 day stint. The party culminates with "The Big Bang" an incredible fireworks display put on by the famous Bartolotta Family - on the Fourth of July or the night before. The fireworks exploding above Lake Michigan - breathtaking! World famous musical acts are booked at the Marcus Amphitheater on the Summerfest grounds, and there are several smaller stages for the second tier and local talent. How Can Work Be So Much Fun??

Helping people we like and can relate to makes our "work" more like FUN! Buying and Selling real estate is serious business, don't get us wrong! But it can be made much more pleasant under certain circumstances. What are they?

First - Everybody understands what's going on - Well-informed clients and educated agents with OPEN CHANNELS of communication working toward a common goal. How to determine the common goal? Agent must LISTEN to clients' needs and preferred outcome.

Second - Agent must "Under-promise and Over-deliver" and not make promises or commitments that sound good but cannot be performed.

Third - Agree to be accountable to each other. Agent must provide information, availability and follow-up regularly, and client must demonstrate loyalty in return.
