After years of “pursuing the climb” in the corporate world, Jim Gauch, founder of Havana Jim Cigars decided it was time to leave that climb and build on his passion. There is great appreciation and fulfillment in having passion for what you do and that sensibility called him to introduce a cigar line (which truly appeals to all) and build a place where they can be enjoyed by all. Jim realized his calling after a vacation to Napa Valley. There was something extraordinary about people sharing passion for their craft and their willingness to invite others into that passion. Jim was inspired and returned home ready and eager to share his deep passion for cigars and introduce a line that was truly him. This line of cigars has been crafted by a very dear friend along with a community of cigars lovers in Dallas. After overrunning his house with cigars, fine tobacco, and friends, Jim quit “pursuing the climb” and, along with the launch of his own cigar line, decided to open a cigar lounge. "You can’t call pursuing your passion a job," says Jim. "I am truly blessed to have such great friends and clients who make this business incredible. The pride and passion we put into everything we do comes through in the cigars and environment we create and for that we are all proud." Several in the line of Havana Jim premium hand-made cigars are rolled by Jose Perez of Montecristo fame. Jose is a Cuban native who has been rolling cigars for 60+ years; 35 of which were for Montecristo. His passion for rolling beautiful cigars is seen in the fine flavors and textures he created.
