Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish Of Limerick, Pennsylvania!

My place of business is Limerick, Pennsylvania...until recently, Limerick was a rural suburb of the boroughs (towns) of Pottstown and Royersford! Dotted with large dairy, cattle, and grain farms it has become the target area for both residential and commercial expansion!

One of the unique occurrences which I would like to address is a religious event...the Creation of a new Roman Catholic Parish called 'Blessed Teresa Of Calcutta'...named of course after the Roman Catholic nun who served the poor and dying of Calcutta and who died in 1997!

Her cause for canonization as a Saint by the church is imminent!

This new parish, however is an amalgam of two very old and very humble congregations brought together in sacrifice and love...St. Peters of Pottstown and St. Clare of Linfield!

I have become acquainted with some members of both of these beloved groups! Since it is on my way to work, I take advantage several times a week by participating in morning worship celebrations! And the people of St. Peters and St. Clares, now Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, have shown me the oneness that is developing amongst them!

As their new Church and School facility is currently under construction in Limerick, not far from my office, and as a tribute, I would like to dedicate to them and their Pastor, Rev. Paul C. Brandt, the following Video!

French Creek State Park...A Resort For All Seasons!

One of the reasons people like to locate or relocate into the region in which I live and work is the many state and national parks that dot the landscape...within a one hour drive, there are at least a dozen parks from which to choose! And I mean large parks...hundreds of acres...thousands of acres!

The one I would like to highlight in this post is called French Creek State Park!

Comprising over 7300 acres, French Creek State Park offers for recreational opportunities:

Trails - Trail Biking - Horseback Riding - Picnicking - Swimming - Boating - Fishing - Hunting - Disc Golf - Orienteering - Wildlife Watching - Organized Group Cabin Camps - Organized Group Tenting - Cabins - Camping Cottages - Camping

There are over 30 miles of trails, 8 miles of horse trails, and 2 lakes...Scotts Run Lake, a cold water 22 acre lake, and Hopewell Lake, a 68 acre lake.

From my home in Douglassville, PA, I can be there in around 15 minutes! It is not just a huge forest in the country, but a very well equipped, well staffed, well managed recreational facility!

Its history is also impressive...Hopewell Furnace began producing iron for America in the late 18th Century...around 1771! Much of the iron was produced using charcoal that was acquired and produced by repeated timbering of the local forests...not until 1883, when the furnace closed, did the present mixed oak forests develop!

I believe that this resource is one of the 'best kept secrets' in our area...and represents an exciting and diversified recreational family opportunity!

Start planning now to explore the many recreational advantages that French Creek State Park has to offer! Here are some links to assist you in your planning!
