Dunedin Celebrates Autumn

Pumpkin Patch in Dunedin, Florida. St. Andrews Pumpkin Patch

I've heard it said that since I moved to Florida some twenty years ago that I must be accustomed by now to not having a changing of the Seasons. Florida really does have a changing of the seasons, although it may not be as extreme as my northern friends and family, we do have some cooler weather and celebrate the beautiful fall colors just like other states do. Here is a beautiful illustration of how Fall appears to us in Dunedin, Florida. Several of our churches have Fall Festivals and Pumpkin Patches. There are planned community events such as our Art Harvest on the first weekend of November. Add our beautiful Harvest Moon over the Gulf of Mexico and there you have a terrific mix...Come and see for yourself.

Dunedin, Florida, Dunedin Businesses,

I am always bragging about my hometown of Dunedin, Florida because it really is Delightful as it is often referred to as "Delightful Dunedin". It is a lovely waterfront area that I am happy to call home. I both live in work in Dunedin. I have a real estate office on Pinehurst and SR 580 known as Celtic Realty, so called due to my ethnic background. Last July, I got married to a terrific guy who also has called Dunedin his hometown for the last five years. We got married at the lovely St. Andrew's Chapel, in Hammock Park and had our reception at the Dunedin Country Club. We purchased all the flowers and wedding accessories from Dunedin businesses and we had our friends and relatives stay at the Blue Moon Inn on Alternate 19 in town. Some friends who traveled by RV stayed at the Blue Moon as well. Needless to say, all of those in attendance were delighted as well and really enjoyed their stay and visit with us in Dunedin. At the end of our wedding day we all had dinner at the new downtown restaurant Casa Tina and enjoyed a terrific show!! Dunedin has lots to offer and that's why we love it!

Tampa Bay Rays, Right in St. Petersburg, Florida

How about those Rays? They sure have come a long way since last season and I am very excited about the playoffs and looking forward to seeing them in the World Series. Our very own, Tampa Bay Area RAYS!! Some folks may not be aware that the Rays are not actually a TAMPA Team but a ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA team where their home games are played. They are referred to as the Tampa Bay Area team quite often and some out of towners confuse the issue with the City of Tampa. Anyway, that being said, many of us in Pinellas County, as well as the many folks in the Tampa Bay Area are soooo proud of the Rays! My favorite is Evan Longoria...Go Rays!

Dunedin, Florida

Dunedin, Florida is a quaint little town of about 37,000 people. As a hometown gal, we are really proud of our views of the sunset at the end of Main Street, our many unique shops and restaurants and our city wide events which often are held downtown, with Main Street closed to vehicular traffic. We attract thousands of visitors, especially this time of year, but what many folks do not know, is that the town's businesses CLOSE on MONDAYS!! Yes, folks, Dunedin is very quiet on Mondays, due to all the activity on the weekends, so vacationers, keep this in mind when you visit our fair city and indeed I do hope you visit.

Cedar Key, Florida - A Great Get-Away

Last week was a tough one for me. I had been blogging about it on Acitive Rain and got lots of support from my fellow Active Rainers, but I really needed a time to reflect, not listen to the news and just plain veg-out. Last year we visitited Cedar Key and had a delightful weekend. It sure was reassuring to re-visit this year and realize that not much has changed over the last year at Cedar Key. They got a new pier, and it has a simple, uncomplicated feel, like the rest of the sleepy little town does. There are a few waterfront, authentic restaurants without the typical tourist fluff. Just locals and hometown folks. Cedar Key is, was and probably always be a unique fishing village, located about 25 miles off the mainland of the Gulf Coast of Florida. Needless to say, the sunsets are fantastic!! Cedar Key is a terrific place to relax, reflect and just enjoy!!
