Family Time?

On Saturdays my wife works so my two daughters (7 and 5) and I like to get in some Daddy Daughter time. It has become tough to find unique things to entertain them, and make the day special.

We have been to the movies, but I feel that we are wasting away in the theater because there is no interaction. Some of our favorite activites are going to Lifetime Fitness to climb the rock wall or play in the pool. I discovered about 10 days ago that the both enjoy going to one of those pottery places, painting a piece and coming back in a week after it has been fired up in the kiln. I like it beacuse we can do it on rainy days, and days that are too hot. I also think that it is great for their creativity.

Last weekend we did a 4.2 mile walk / razor scooter ride. I am kind of looking for suggestions here as well as other ideas to spend quality time with my children. We have been to the Zoo, Wild Animal parks, museums.

Maybe hike South Mountain from the back? Does any one know if that is a good idea with two youngsters? Is there any easy trailhead with stuff to see. Any other hikes nearby that are fun/ educational?

Thank you inadvance for your feedback.

The Big game is coming up and what do I have for you?

The perfect Bloddy Mary and a great wing type Appetizer..

History

The origin of the Bloody Mary is disputed. Fernand Petiot is said to have invented the drink in 1920 while working at Harry's Bar in Paris, France, a frequent hangout for Ernest Hemingway and other American expatriates. Another story is that it was originally created by George Jessel around 1939. In 1939, Lucius Beebe printed in his gossip column "This New York" one of the earliest U.S. references to this drink, along with the original recipe: "George Jessel's newest pick-me-up which is receiving attention from the town's paragraphers is called a Bloody Mary: half tomato juice, half vodka."

Why Me?

The best part about this drink is you can make it your own.

Add or take away something. A Bloody Pirate uses dark Rum instead of Vodka, a Bloody Maureen uses Guiness, a Bloody 8 uses V-8 instead of tomato juice. A Bloody Leroy uses Barbeque sauce in lieu of TJ. Change Garnish or ingredients to suit your taste.. Most of all ENJOY!!!

Ingredients

· 1 1/2 oz.vodka

· 3-4 oz tomato juice

· 3-5 dashes celery salt

· 5-7 dashes Tabasco

· 6-9 dashes of Lea & Perrin's Worcestershire sauce

· Dash of lime juice

· A shot of Beer

Garnish with a Clausen Garlic Spear & olives.

Now for that Appetizer than will be the talk of the game!!

Buffalo Chicken Dip- Tastes like hot wings dipped in Ranch

Layer of Cream Cheese
Ranch Dressing
Canned Chicken
Buffalo Sauce
Cheese (Cheddar )

Bake at 350 for 20 mins or so.

AWESOME- You can make a meal out of that
