The Shady Side of DuPont WA...

I was raised in a Air Force family. I am a veteran of both the Army and Navy myself. These experiences have given me a pretty good view of most communities around military installations. Granted many of these towns around our nation have been cleaned up but the stigma remains. DuPont Washington never had to clean up a bad part of town as it was never a bad place to live.
Imagine my surprise, when a client, told me that he didn't want to look at homes in DuPont. He was from a military family and his mom and dad told him to stay clear of any town adjacent to any military base. They warned of prostitution, massage shops, pawn shops and shady characters. I had sent him pictures of homes in his price range, that he liked, and he said to take him through the shadiest part of DuPont. I took him to, just outside, the tallest building in town. (Pictured Above)
DuPont is prime example of where most people want to live when they relocate with their families.

Great schools
Tree lined streets
Short commute
Low crime
A good mix of single family homes and condos (Built Since 1995)
Great transit center, soon to add trains
Bike and walking trails abound
Six public golf courses within 10 miles, one chosen for the 2015 (P.G.A.) US Open.

Life is great In DuPont! My client not only got the home he wanted, he qualified for the $8000 tax credit...

I started my real estate career 10 years ago. The first lesson I learned, after 21 years in corporate customer service and management, is I didn't know squat about one on one client service. Needless to say I had to learn real fast that real estate is a 24/7 commitment to client service.

Real estate is a learning experience not only for the buyer or seller but also for the Realtor. I have learned something new on virtually every transaction I have been a party to. I am constantly going to classes and seminars to perfect my craft and give my clients the most up to date information of my market and the industry. I have obtained the following designations; Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR), Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Graduate Residential Institute (GRI), and Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES).

Rather than fear technology I embrace it, giving my clients a step up on the competition whether they are buying or selling. I am currently working with buyers from Australia, Iraq, and South Korea along with several in the continental United States, Alaska, and Hawaii.
