1619 homes sold in July in the Greater Milwaukee Area which is an increase of nearly 10%. Waukesha County saw sales rocket 15.7% in July compared with last July. Depressed prices and the $8000 First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit are driving sales as well as favorable mortgage rates. Let's hope this trend continues.
How can you ever be bored living in the Greater Milwaukee Area? This weekend there is a two day air show at the lakefront (http://www.milwaukeeairshow.com) and German Fest is at the Summerfest grounds. Admission is free Thursday night. Saturday there is The Great Downer Avenue Bike Race in The Downer Avenue neighborhood on the fashionable east side. Nearby, the Brady Street Cheese Fest is happening in that hip neighborhood. And there is a Bradford Beach Jam and Reggae Fest happening.
Mortgage rates are volatile again with many prices changes throughout the day. The 30 year mortgage is nearing a 7 month high. Fears of too much debt,hope of a recovering economy and the GM bankruptcy are all causing havoc. Our advice is to lock now because pricing is changing quickly.
