The World's largest Real Estate Convention for Real Estate Professionals, will be held November 07 - 10, 2008 with a number of meetings that compliment but are not part of the official agenda during the week prior to the 7th.
Linda and I will be attending this amazing gathering of information, resources and networking again this year. Last year was in Las Vegas, this year it is Orlando Florida.
With Linda now having completed the course and almost ready to get licensed this years convention will take a completely different perspective and dimension for us both.
For Linda, it will be an eye opener to sit in and listen to all this information, sessions workshop and practical learning. For both it will be a week of hard work in regards of networking, shaking hands, promoting Canada and Victoria in particular as a great place to refer buyers and sellers to, in addition we will be seeking new and strengthening existing relationships with those we have great relationships with.
I will be attending a re-certification class for teachers of a class that we hope to be able to teach in BC soon, called Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR). This course is currently being reviewed and edited for introduction in BC by BCREA, as one of the continuing education courses.
We will also try to attend a similar recertification course for course specializing in working with Seniors (SRES), again BCREA is working toward introducing these course to BC Canada, over the next year or so.
We hope to be able to tell you more about these courses soon.
for those wondering why we would go to a convention in the USA, an earlier statement should have answered it for you, but in short "REFERRALS" we expect to generate enough new referrals from agents to make this event once again worth our while.
The education, the fellow ship, the networking, insight, understanding and opportunities etc all play an additional important part in staying on top of the market and events that may or will affect us locally.
A question to Active Rain realtor bloggers, are there any Active Rain activities and events scheduled at the Convention, and if so where and when?
How about all Active Rain supporters, making and wearing an Active Rain Badge (be creative) during the convention and meetings? I wil make this suggestion a seperate post as well.
It is our intention to post some updates and possibly pictures and information from Orlando while we are there, but in the mean time, if you are confirmed to go, or are planning to go, let us know and may be we can connect while amongst the thousands.

between Lance Armstrong, Lionel Ritchie, and Cool and the Gang, the entertainment alone is likely worth the price of attending, but you decide.
In any event if you ever have a possibility to attend regional or national events organized by either your own company or by regional or national real estate organizations, there are so many benefits in attending that I can only urge you to consider it.

Is it just me, or has the entire world gone mad...........
Don't answer that, it's retorical.
However, the real question is, why are we just all thriving on all the bad news that is being spouted out from every angle, every industry and every walk of life.?
I think we are once again doing this all or nothing thing, where either everything is just great, and rosy, and all of a sudden within weeks, we have nothing but doom and gloom.
Is any of this actually serving a purpose other than sell advertising for the media that send us the various levels of "none" sense?
It appears to me, that we are or need to be "common sense people" and we need to step back and realize that it never is all good or all bad.
Finding solutions is what Realtors do for a living, each and every day, for our friends, families and clients, now more than ever we have a great opportunity to offer our insight, our perspective and bring clarity of and direction for all that we serve.
Jumping on the bad news bandwagon, will never solve anything for anyone, as always we take in the information, assess how and where the issues may be and offer our suggestions, direction and solutions to those that are in need of our information and guidance.
Our answers to the most common questions we receive on a daily base have and continue to impact the lives of thousands of people around us, so I would urge you and your peers to be cautious of what you say and how you say it.
Approach each question and opportunity as an opportunity to offer solutions, direction and assistance, not an opportunity to blast or spout more fuel on an already raging fire
Have Fun, and live a Pfanntastic Life
