Situated in a little corner of the park it is only open a few hours a day. If you are here you must visit. Spend an afternoon, fishing or windsurfing or barbequeing in the park. Port Charlotte - Best Place to Retire

Port Charlotte named best place to retire by CNNMoney.com. Not one of the best but #1 Best Place to Retire

This accolade for Port Charlotte is an excellent boost. To add to this our schools are getting good grades too.

This little Gem is on the West Coast of Florida, 3 hours from Orlando to the North and about the same distance from Miami to the South.

Port Charlotte was created and developed in the late 1950. It is still growing and developing and has all the earmarks of a great community. Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda - which had been receiving all the accolades in the past - make up Charlotte County and its legendary unspoiled beauty. Its uncongested living makes it a destination of choice for the leisurely and unhurried.

The Murdock Area of North Port Charlotte is growing dynamically, with shopping areas, business complexes, financial Institutions, theatres, restaurants and motels. Our Local Banks tell us they have money to lend because they did not get caught up in the sub-prime debacle.

Recreational opportunities aboud, with the myraid clubs and associations. Parks, Museums and Marinas are interspersed with Golf Courses, Yacht Clubs, Tennis Courts, Pools and The Beach Complex. The Cultural Center of Charlotte County offers educational, recreational and Cultural activities almost every day of the week, all 52 weeks. There is always something interesting to do here.

Do you know Port Charlotte has more than 165 miles of man-made waterways, many with access to Charlotte Harbor and further out into the Gulf of Mexico. The miles of waterways become even more valuable today since the preservation of the Ecosystem prohibits the creation of any more man-made canals.

The Charlotte County Sports Stadium is home to the Stone Crabs and Spring Training Ground for the Tampa Bay Rays . It is also the venue for festivals, concerts, shows, fairs, sporting events and expositions. It has the amenties to host almost any type of event.
