The following home was well staged, in a great location, and absolutely beautiful. The problem (other than a down market): mediocre photos and no web site.
This house was previously listed with another agent but when that agent's contract was up, the seller turned to my favorite clients to take the listing to the next level. And they always do!
These agents are great because they market the heck out of their listings. They called me in to give the house brand spanking new photos and a professional web site.
I should point out that the before photos that the old agent used were not horrible. Some were half-way decent. I just don't think half-way decent will help sell a $1.65 million dollar house. The before shots just didn't showcase the home with that professional touch.
Side note to stagers - I think it's a good idea to have a non-pro shoot your staging before photos and then have a professional photographer shoot your after photos. I totally think it will make your finished work look more dramatic and polished.
I don't know. Let me know what you think.
Oh, the new web site I created for the house is http://www.2685zorada.com

Here are a few more angles that I shot for the new agents that were not shot by the old agent.

I got brought in to shoot some twilight shots that could be used for the cover of the MLS Open House Guide. I love this house. It had great architectural lines and amazing views of the valley.
This was a fun shoot. I think I able to get some cool shots for them to choose from. I had to break out a lot of my lights to get things just how I wanted them, but getting “the shot” is what makes it so fun.
Here are a few photos from the shoot. Let me know what you think.

I got a call this week from someone looking to have an 11,000+ square foot, $29.9 million dollar mansion photographed for a magazine cover and profile feature story.
They found my work at www.lahomephotography.com and www.gregorystorm.com and loved what they saw. We discussed their needs, I submitted my bid and I booked the job the next day.
What I was surprised to find out is they weren't a referral. They had been searching high and low for the right photographers for this job and found me on the Internet.
My ActiveRain and Google Maps (read my article on listing your business on Google Maps here) listing helped get me to the top of their search.
I've shot many multi-million dollar homes before, but this spectacular mega-million dollar mansion is now my biggest.
I had a great time shooting it and judging by their response to the final images, I have a new long-term client. Here are a couple photos from the shoot.
Thanks ActiveRain!

I was tooling around Google, checking my analytics and seeing where my new web site (www.lahomephotography.com) was ranked, when I stumbled on this great feature. It is so good I thought I would share it with everybody.
Did you know you can put your business on Google Maps for free?
It's pretty awesome! Go to maps.google.com and click on the "Put your business on Google Maps" link on the left. You can add all your contact info, web site, upload photos and videos, and more. All for free. You can even ad coupons.
Being listed on Google Maps will be a perfect way to reach people who use Google to find photographers, real estate agents, mortgage brokers, home stagers, etc. in their local area. You can even show up nationally.
Google Maps Business In Action - Increase your Rank
To see this in action, type Headshots into the maps.google.com search. You will get a visual listing of the Top 20 results in the country. I'm the California result like 17 or 18. If you type Real Estate Photographer in the search, I think I'm number 27 out of over 87,000 results. If you double-click California before searching, I think I'm #1. Not too shabby considering I just entered my info a few days ago.
I just did one for "real estate agent" (without the quotes) and guess where the #1 result is? Go ahead and give it a try.
Advice for Google Map Businesses
When you're entering your business, make sure the number you enter for verification is a direct line because the Google computer will call you within seconds to verify your information. Also, like the regular Google search, your company/organization title is very important. Keep that in mind when thinking about how people will search for you.
I hope you find this information useful. Let me know if you add your business. It'd be nice to know my blog helped somebody.
