That's right! We just received word that this Woodland Hills Home that was Staged by Platinum Home Staging, Inc. less than 2 weeks ago is already in escrow for WELL OVER asking price. It happened so quickly we had not even had a chance to blog about how this vanilla home was transformed into a beautiful show piece in just ONE DAY! But the proof is in the pudding that HOME STAGING WORKS!

... Especially when it involves a brick fireplace that you've never been attracted to.

Do you have one of these? A dated reminder in your home of just how old it may be? You've never been attracted to it, but it was functional and served it's purpose; yet you never knew how to break it off and move on to something new?

These Westlake Village Home Owners were in that exact position when they called Platinum Home Staging, Inc. for "counseling". It was rocky, awkward and lop-sided; but it had a good foundation to work with and our Professionals were able to look past the flaws and work them through the process of a beautiful new relationship ~ yes, with their fireplace.

This was just one element of remodeling this Westlake Village home. These Home Owners wanted to go from Traditional Country to a more Modern and Contemporay feeling. THIS fireplace is a major focal point of the home and would ultimately set the tone for the feeling of the entire space.

Some of the obstacles: the uneven "steps" of the fireplace hearth and the radius design which would determine the size of stone we could use for the new facade. Instead of demolishing the entire unit, we embraced it and (after a LOT of research, driving and selecting the perfect stone/texture/color) made it a Modern Masterpiece.

The Home Owners wanted a random stacked-stone feeling, but in a slick modern way. The radius of the fireplace, and the lack of available stack-stone products, led us to select a Golden Ray tile which we then had custom cut to a variety of sizes of our own specifications.

Then, each tile had to be hand selected, layed and sometimes cut again, to get that truly random effect that we wanted.

The hearth was leveled to an even, low-lying, sleek line and a Creme Marfelle slab in a "leather" finish was selected and fabricated to finish it off. The squared edge keeps the line crisp and the ash guard for the fireplace box was perfect. This room also received all new flooring, paint, a completely refinished bar and furniture.

The above picture was NOT photo-shopped, but taken on a job site of a Client's home where Platinum Home Staging, Inc. has been brought in to "save the day". You see, these Home Owners thought they would save a little money by not hiring a Professional to help over see the Interior Remodel of their newly purchased home. They instead hired a "contractor" and felt that they would save a lot of money by overseeing the project themselves. This "contractor" does not warrant a capital "C" in our humble opinion by what his company, sub-contractors and tradespeople have done to this couple and their beautiful Hidden Valley home.

Even if you are a smoker yourself; NEVER should anyone you hire EVER be smoking in your home at ANY time unless you've offered them a cigar and good glass of cognac. The above picture shows a level of complete disregard and unprofessionalism that, if we were overseeing this project, would have had the offender fired and off of the project on the spot. Beleive it or not; there were SO many issues with this "contractor" that the Home Owner felt that, "...this was the least of their worries."

My Company was recently contacted by gentleman who was in desperate need of setting up a new new home for himself and his 2 young daughters.
