Spotlight on Pleasanton Heights, a Pleasanton Community with History & Charm

One of Pleasanton's oldest and most established neighborhoods, Pleasanton Heights is a highly sought-after area of Pleasanton. Its close proximity to Downtown Pleasanton and Main Street makes it desirable to homeowners who want to actively participate in all that Pleasanton's quaint and charming downtown area has to offer.

Pleasanton Heights is bordered by First Street on the west, Bernal Avenue to the south and east, and Del Sol Avenue on the north. Residents of these neighborhoods can easily walk to Main Street for shopping and dining, the weekly Farmer's Market as well as the plethora of special events hosted by the Pleasanton Downtown Association, including Friday Night Concerts in the Park, 1st Wednesday Street Parties and a variety of seasonal street fairs. This location will only become more desirable when the city's much-anticipated Firehouse Arts Center opens downtown in early 2010.

While most of the 350 homes in this neighborhood were built in the 1950s and ‘60s, there are some homes, particularly on Second Street, that date back 100 years or more. Particularly noteworthy are a couple of homes on Second Street that were built in the 1890s. A stroll down this charming, tree-lined street is a wonderful study in how a multitude of architectural styles - old and new -- can beautifully co-exist.

Pleasanton Heights is well situated between the three levels of schools - elementary, middle and high school. The floor plans in these neighborhoods range from 1,200-square-foot cottages to 2,000-square-foot homes. Many of the homes have been remodeled and updated, and the pride of ownership in this neighborhood is strongly evident. Homes in Pleasanton Heights do not come on the market often, and when they do, the average list price in today's economy is well over $700,000.

As your Pleasanton real estate experts, we can help you buy or sell a home in this charming section of the city. Give us a call!

Spotlight on Laguna Oaks, Pleasanton

Laguna Oaks, built in the mid 1990s, is one of Pleasanton’s premier – and highly desirable -- westside neighborhoods. Located off of Foothill Road, just north of Bernal Avenue, this collection of 161 homes is an exclusive enclave nestled below the Pleasanton Ridge, between Foothill Road and the 680 freeway.

With one entrance on Foothill Road, Laguna Oaks has the look and feel of an enclosed community. It is completely encircled with mature trees and landscaping on all of its borders, giving it the ambiance of a private community. The well-designed and spacious homes are ideally positioned on generously sized lots. Most properties feature three- or four-car garages.

This family-friendly community boasts an abundance of well-maintained landscaping, meandering walking paths, lush greenbelts and mature trees. The community center includes two tennis courts, a basketball court, a children’s play area, and a heated pool and spa as well as a well-appointed clubhouse, which is available to residents for private parties and entertainment. The clubhouse features a main room, kitchen and meeting space, and is well used by the Laguna Oaks residents. The views and proximity from the Pleasanton Ridge make it a number one destination point for hiking and picnicking too!

Despite its secluded setting, Laguna Oaks is easily accessible from Foothill Road and its great location provides easy access to Downtown Pleasanton, the Stoneridge Mall, Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park, local schools as well as the 580 and 680 freeways.
