Stroudsburg - During the February Board of Directors meeting of the Arthritis Foundation, Dennis Mooney was appointed as the Ambassador for the 11th Legislative District. Mooney, who has been a Board of Director with the Arthritis Foundation for a number of years, was pleased with the appointment. An Arthritis Ambassador represents his or her Congressional District as a special envoy for the Arthritis Foundation. Mooney will educate community leaders and elected officials about the impact of arthritis and participate in awareness--raising events and opportunities. The 11th Legislative District falls under the jurisdiction of Congressman Lou Barletta from Hazleton.
Mooney, a Vice President and Sales Manager for Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Wilkins & Associates, also was made a Board member of Habitat for Humanity--Pocono District last year. In addition to his role as an ambassador for the Arthritis Foundation, Mooney is an active Board of Director member of the Pocono Mountains Association of REALTORS
MT POCONO: Frank DeEsch, Certified Home Inspector, and F. Edward Wood, Manager are the new owners of Housemaster of the Poconos, LLC. Shown also in the photo, is Thomas R. Wilkins, President/CEO of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Wilkins & Associates. Both companies plan to work together in the future through the Wilkins Independent Family of Home Buying Services.
Wood and DeEsch purchased Housemaster of the Poconos, LLC in January of this year. DeEsch, who will be performing the inspections, has been a property inspector since 1986. He is certified and has performed inspections for HUD, NACHI, and NIHI. His partner, Wood will be handling the business and promotion side of the business. Housemaster of the Poconos, LLC will cover a 9 county area. Said Thomas R. Wilkins, "These guys are definitely going to be good for our business. They know the customer service skills required to have the trust of the Realtors while protecting the buyers."

Housemasters is celebrating their 30th year in business. They are the oldest inspection company in the country. To start out with, DeEsch will employ two fulltime inspectors, one part-time inspector, both of who will be certified. To renew your inspector's license, it requires 60 hours of classroom study.

Stroudsburg - By unanimous vote at their February meeting, Tom Wilkins was appointed to the position of Chairperson for the Monroe County Affordable Housing Board. Wilkins has been an appointed member of the Affordable Housing Board for the past 8 years.
Prior to Wilkins becoming Chairperson, the Committee was chaired by Judge David Williamson, who while in his private practice, was Chairperson for the past 4 years. The Monroe County Affordable Housing Board and their appointed members have been in existence for over 15 years. In their capacity as a Board, collectively the board members process Monroe County first time home buyer loans as well as review and comment on site plans and develop plans for low income and senior citizens affordable housing apartments as well as certain tax credit projects that also help low income and senior housing in Monroe County.
Wilkins was encouraged to submit his name for the Chairman's position by Barbara Samet who is and has served on the Monroe County Affordable Housing Board as Vice President since the Board's inception. Through Samet's backing and support, Wilkins was approved for the Chairperson's position.
Bushkill - Rita M. Fischer, Assoc Broker, has joined the Wilkins organization as a Salesperson in the Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Bushkill office.
Prior to moving to the Poconos two years ago, Fischer was a real estate broker in New York since 1989. She also attended and graduated from New York University.
Fischer moved to the Masthope Community in Lackawaxen, PA in 2009. Currently, Fischer is an active member of the Masthope Real Estate committee.
Fischer's prior work experience includes working for and managing 30 agents at Douglas Elliman, a leading and #1 real estate company in Manhattan at their Mercer Street office. In addition to that, she owned and operated All Seasons Real Estate in Franklin Square, NY.
Fischer was recruited by Dennis Mooney, Vice Pres with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate. Said Mooney, "Rita is a very professional person; her area of concentration will be Masthope while being a member of the Bushkill sales team. Fisher will also become a member of the Pike/Wayne Association of Realtors."
