Hi All-
It has been awhile since I have blogged. There has been many reasons why.. I have been very busy staging, designing closets for clients and networking and I just did not have the time.
It is important to get back to the basics and determine the keys to any businesses success and follow the path. Many of us are small business owners and find it difficult to get all that needs to be done completed without giving up all of our personal time. I have been fortunate enough to be taking group business coaching classes with Mike Goldman of Performance Breakthrough and I have been learning a ton. Being in a group setting also has allowed me to hear what other small business owners are having trouble with, and then we get to discuss alternatives that might help each other.
Local networking groups are a very important tool in these economic times. It allows us to get out and meet others who want to grow their businesses as well. I have been going to four or five different networking events each week, and this has helped me meet hundreds of new connections. It also allows me to add their contact information to my database. With this information I now have people to refer to clients, friends and colleagues. I also add them to my Constant Contact list so they can receive my bi-monthly newsletters.
Its a funny thing about newsletters; they are a great source of information and it is important to get them out regularly. Keep them filled with facts that others can use. Make the headlines simpe and attract the reader's attention. You can also use part of the space to inform them about a colleagues' business.
Well, now you know why I have not been here.. but I plan to be back with important information on how the networking is assisting in my business endeavors. If you have found networking to be positive source of revenue for your business, lets share the information and event calendars. Maybe you might know of one that I can benefit from and vice versa..
I look forward to hearing from you..
What the Television Staging Shows Are Not Showing You..
Real Estate Staging is a growing and vital part of the real estate industry. Interest rates are coming down to an all time low, and many are looking to take advantage of the low rates.
If you presently own your home or apartment and want to make the move to a new home, so much has to be done. You need to make sure that you get the highest value for your present property so you can purchase your newer home.
The best way to achieve this goal is to make your home stand out from all of the rest on the market. Hiring a Real Estate Stager prior to listing your property is the best investment you can make.
Today I was speaking with my neighbor who is listing their home for sale. He admitted that they have made no improvements since they have lived there, thirty plus years. I have noticed home improvement trucks at their home the last few weeks. I asked him if they had used a Home Stager and he replied that the Realtor had taken care of the Staging consultation. What a smart Realtor. The commission that is due to be made on the sale will be sizable at the sale. The home would have been tough to sell without the staging. I gave him some free advice on the curb appeal and what he needs to do to make the first impression a lasting one. By giving this advice, I only gain in value on my property.
The above picture is a Staged Home that I finished for a builder last year. The property had been empty and the rooms seemed small. The Staging made the house look warm, and family friendly. The Realtor and purchasers could not believe the transformation of the home with placing the correct furniture in it.
Since so many clients have been telling me that they watch the HDTV shows, I decided to watch a few with my son one Sunday. I found it very interesting how they transformed the rooms, but only a few on each house. What amazed me more was how misleading the shows are on the real costs. The projects were small, and only part of the homes. The real trick is that they do not include the cost of any of the labor.
If you are hesitant to Stage your home because of the small consultation fee.. remember how much more it will hurt when you have to reduce your asking price the first time by $10,000 or more. The $250 consultation is worth every penny.

THE BEFORE OF THE LIVING ROOM WALL THE OWNER WANTED SOMETHING TO MAKE THE ROOM
STAND OUT, SOMETHING DIFFERENT. THIS UNIT IS JUST
WHAT THEY WANTED.
Looking at colleges with your child who is a junior in high school can be stressful. Learning to research what the choices are, and how to find the right fit for your child with the 3,500 colleges in the United States is exhausting.
So now you want to have your closets redesigned, or a wall unit that would make your living room stand out. With so many companies who advertise in every circular and magazine, how does one choose a company to call?
It is important that you do your homework. Call a few companies that you know friends or relatives have used and were extremely satisfied with. Check references. See if they have a website showing work that is completed. And make sure that they have liability insurance.
I was recently called into an apartment downtown NYC to design and give a proposal for various projects in the apartment. Not only did the client love the designs, but the price I gave them was half of what another company quoted for part of the work. You can see the work in the album shown as Pine Street on my website.
If you know someone who is interested in having any custom closets or cabinetry work done in their home, please give them my contact information. I will make sure that they receive the best product and service available for the right price.
