Regular Unleaded for $2.88 a gallon!!! I never thought I'd be excited about that!

With the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas at $3.539 as of this morning... How in the world is Dodge's Store in Winter Garden selling it of $2.889 a gallon???? Orlando Area Gas Prices

From what the local media is reporting... The owner of Dodge's Store (an independent gas station) states that since they are not affiliated with a particular brand, they have the freedom to shop for the best prices from the distributors. Dodge's apparently paid around $2.08 per gallon and with taxes, etc. and can sell it for $2.88 per gallon.

This has created quite a frenzy, and lines have been forming and wrapping into the side streets. The owner is a wise person! The store is bustling with shoppers, and I am sure they will make quite a good profit by bringing people in just on principle.

Why aren't more independent gas stations doing the same thing? Allegedly there are stations getting the same deal on gas as Dodge's did, but still charging the going rate and making TONS of money! The two closest (geographically) competitors to Dodge's Store are both still charging over $3.40-something per gallon and are major-brand name gas stations.

I found this to be an interesting story and wanted to share with my Central Florida residents! In case you are out in the Winter Garden area, check it out! Dodge's Store is on the corner of Highway 50 (West Colonial Drive) and 9th Street in Winter Garden.

Will the $541 Million from HUD help Florida?

I read an article in the Orlando Sentinel last week about this and wanted to see what your perspectives are on the idea of this stabilization intiative... In case you did not hear about it, you can read all about it in the Orlando Sentinel.

Will this really help stimulate our local housing economy by rehabbing the abandoned properties and converting them into affordable housing?

I'd really appreciate feedback from realtors and other experts!

Thank you!

I cannot believe I know people who are already Christmas shopping!!!

Can it possibly be that time of year AGAIN??? I just finished Christmas shopping last year! Ugh! I hope to dread the actual shopping season a bit less this year and here is why...

My two little guys at home (ages 7 and 3.5) will appreciate the time spent versus the gifts that Santa showers them with. Their favorite things to do are anything that involves spending time with Mommy and Daddy. Well, you know what???

When it comes to your kids (and even friends and family), your time is the best gift you can give!

Not sure if you have seen this yet... interesting take on politics and housing crisis!

Hopefully, I will not offend anyone by sharing this... it is of a political nature and is a very insightful and inciteful take on the current economic conditions.

Not sure if any of you have experienced heart palpitations and insomnia over the past week or so due to the so-called "bailout", but at 36 years-old, I am too young to experience chest-pains and be on the brink of a heart attack!
