Save a Life - - - These Guys REALLY Need Your Help

My mom has been the treasurer for several years with the Humane Society of Clark County located in Arkadelphia, AR. "Arkadoo" is a small town with the population of 10,000.

Her and the local volunteers have donated many hours bathing animals, changing litter boxes, etc. to maintain their operation to save animals. (They are a no kill shelter.) She and others will drive out of state to pick up animals from kill shelters before they are destroyed and stand outside PetSmart 2 hours away from her home in hopes of getting these animals adopted. She has obtained several grants but they could only be used to have the animals spayed/neutered and the funds have been used. (Not to buy food, litter, etc.)

They collect the animals that the homeowners leave behind and try to find them homes. I know in Las Vegas I personally have been to homes that have had abandoned pets left behind. It's heart breaking to find these guys and if you are an animal lover like me (wonder where I get it) it pains me to wonder if the pet will end up adopted or taken to a shelter that can't afford to keep the animal for more than a week.

With the current state of the economy, donations are WAY DOWN and the HSCC is barely scrapping by. If you have extra office supplies, old blankets / towels, gift cards in your wallet that sit there, etc., please consider boxingn up the items and donating to my mom's organization or one near you. I am sure these shelters are getting a lot of abandoned animals and need the help now more than ever.

Want Clients to Find You? You Need to Be Here

According to the 2008 Nielsen Online Custom Survey and WebVisible, Inc. studies that were compared to the 2006 studies, the use for yellow pages is down 23% and the use of the local newspaper is 41% less.

What does this mean for you? You need to make sure that you are registered on all the "local sites" on the internet.

Why? More and more potential clients are using the internet to find local business to provide services and products they are looking for.

Tips for your profile:

  1. The search will use your zip code to map you but you can give yourself a little "punch" by adding zip codes to your profile - stats show that people search what they are looking for and the zip code "real estate marketing" and "89131" (see image below)
  2. Ensure that your profile has all the keywords people will use to find you (real estate, bank owned, short sale, foreclosure, agent, etc.)
  3. Add a reminder to your calendar to make sure that profile is current every 6 months to a year

  • Other

What do you consider to be your "best bang for your buck" marketing method?

From the research I have gathered from my clients, Internet marketing seems to be the biggest attractor with Listing Syndication and Postings to eClassifieds being the largest majority.

And last but least, if you use (or have used) Point2, Z57, etc. what are your experiences with the site(s), leads generated from it and customer service. I have my favorites but am wondering if others agree with me.

Thanks for the info!
