This video still amazes me with how many butterfly's appeared in 2010 and for the year of 2011, it seemed hardly any migrated from Mexico. I hope the year of 2012 brings an abundance of Monarch Butterflies :)

Speechless Sunday We'll miss you Whitney Houston by Feng Shui Long Island

Sad news was announced yesterday evening that singing Super Star Whitney Huston had passed away at age 48 in Beverly Hills California. It really does not matter if you were a fan of Whitney. It is the story of her life that captures your attention and connects you to the tragedy that has unfolded. We all have friends and/or family members that have a similar story but played out with different characters and sonorous.
Whitney was a beautiful women with such skill, talent and passion for singing and life, at one time. It's so important to be mindful of the people you choose to surround yourself with. They will help you grow or bring you down so fast, by the time you realize it may be to late and unfortunately Whitney was blinded by this fact.
48, 38, 28, 18 it does not matter your age. Everyday you are challenged by life, by the ignorance of others but you have a choice. Learn from Whitney, do not follow those who lead a stray, create your own path, follow your heart and intuition and you will always be on key.

Debbie and I met Laura at a health fair and were immediately attracted to her personality and ‘mindful’ presentation of materials – we instantly asked her to consider speaking at our Cancer Wellness Retreat with confidence that our guests would be as enamored with this subject as we were.
When Laura learned what Strength for Life was about the wheels were in motion and she thought that a sage smudging would be an excellent addition to our weekend. A few of the guests were currently undergoing chemotherapy and Laura suggested they smudge after each therapy session. Laura demonstrated the proper protocol for a smudging – and each guest was given a supply of white sage to perform the ritual at home. At the conclusion of the smudging she told them that with a pure intention – there is no wrong way, alleviating any fear of trying a smudging on their own.
Laura put together packets of information for each guest explaining the Bagua, the use of colors, placement, design, simple Feng Shui tips and information on the ‘5 Element Theory’ etc.
The ‘aha- moments’ continued for many, and with each ‘potential problem area that we exposed Laura had a quick solution giving peace of mind to all. The information and presentation was above and beyond what we hoped – our sincere thanks for adding this dimension to our retreat.
