It really does not take a lot to maintain your body. Educate yourself on easy to do activities that are enjoyable and still very good to keep you physically fit. These days the weather is becoming nicer and warmer, New York we're at 71 degrees in March!
Take advantage and be a bit more active then usual. I promise you'll feel better and can take in that much needed vitamin D from the sun. Take a walk in your neighborhood, explore your local Nature preserve with a hike or walk along the sea shores of Long Island. Beaches around this time of year are so peaceful. If you decide to walk along the beach, to challenge yourself a bit more, walk in the sand rather than on the boardwalk, which is much easier on your joints.
To promote a healthy heart it's typically recommended to do 30mins of cardio 3x a week, but start slow. Do 10 mins and gradually work your way up :) You'll notice an increase in energy, you'll have a happier mood, increase of motivation and what everyone loves, positive change to your body form. Keep in mind strength training is a must to develop even more muscle definition and weight loss if that is your goal.

To honor them and their family members I have recently teamed up with The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training for the Grand Canyon Hike for a cure in May of 2012.
I have a mission-to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. To accomplish that mission, I’m participating in a sports endurance event as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support; I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.

Visit Another Hidden Treasure of Long Island Shelter Island with New York Feng Shui consultant
What a beautiful day to hike the Shelter Island located between the North and South Fork of Long Island NY. This beautiful hidden treasure offers visitors a chance to see Long Island the way it used to be before development took over it's natural beauty.
Here is a brief history about Shelter Island NY:
"Shelter Island is 8,000 acres of land, marsh, and mist nestled between the North and South Forks of Long Island and surrounded by Gardinerís, Shelter Island, and Peconic Bays. Gardinerís Island to the east completes the sheltering effect. Shelter Island can be reached by shuttle ferries from both Greenport and North Haven, north of Sag Harbor. The County road through the island is Route 114."

The Shelter Island Preserve is home to hundreds of animals, trees and plants. You have best of both worlds, woodlands and beach scenes. What helps to keep this location so pristine is that no one can occupy the beach, leaving it completely true to it's surroundings. It's really amazing the difference you can see and smell. The air was much crisper and fresh and the ocean water was so clear you can see the bottom. It was almost like you were on a tropical island.
Even tho this is the season for non lush greenery, there was still so much beauty to appreciate. Looking at the large fields of tall grass, random patches of darker areas helped to create interesting natural compositions of color and texture. When standing still and really taking in the sounds, Ms. Cerrano and her other hikers could hear the wind gently hitting these blades of tall grass. This was so peaceful, you could not help but get caught up in the moment.
The amount of birds in Shelter Island Preserve was amazing! North Fork Feng Shui consultant Laura Cerrano absolutely loved her 10 mile hike with her Team in Training on Shelter Island today. It's strongly recommended to those visiting or who already live on Long Island or simply the New York region to take advantage of this preserve. It's for you anyway ;)

Changes can Happen Faster Than you Think by Feng Shui Long Island and Manhattan
I love hearing updates from my clients, especially when changes happen faster then they or I expect them too. This was an update sent to me yesterday from a client whom I worked with last weekend. Keeping a positive outlook and mindset is a core element when shifting the energy of your current or new home. Deborah made mindful changes and had a more positive outlook and attitude toward her home in Dix Hills NY. Within less then a week this it what she had to share :)
Thank you very much for coming to my home, your ideas were very helpful. I feel much better in my new home. There have been so many changes since you were there. My boyfriend actually replaced the carpet in the living room and both bedrooms – yey!! It is a light creamy color which brightens the space and it helped remove the odor as well. My landlord hesitantly agreed to split the costs—double yey!! I decided to keep the wall color in the main area because of this.

Debbie and I met Laura at a health fair and were immediately attracted to her personality and ‘mindful’ presentation of materials – we instantly asked her to consider speaking at our Cancer Wellness Retreat with confidence that our guests would be as enamored with this subject as we were.
When Laura learned what Strength for Life was about the wheels were in motion and she thought that a sage smudging would be an excellent addition to our weekend. A few of the guests were currently undergoing chemotherapy and Laura suggested they smudge after each therapy session. Laura demonstrated the proper protocol for a smudging – and each guest was given a supply of white sage to perform the ritual at home. At the conclusion of the smudging she told them that with a pure intention – there is no wrong way, alleviating any fear of trying a smudging on their own.
Laura put together packets of information for each guest explaining the Bagua, the use of colors, placement, design, simple Feng Shui tips and information on the ‘5 Element Theory’ etc.
The ‘aha- moments’ continued for many, and with each ‘potential problem area that we exposed Laura had a quick solution giving peace of mind to all. The information and presentation was above and beyond what we hoped – our sincere thanks for adding this dimension to our retreat.
