A New York Feng Shui Consultant AND a Roving Reporter
Feng Shui in Manhattan. Feng Shui on Long Island. THIS is what I do and have been doing for well over a decade. But lately I have noticed something else...I HAVE BEEN TURNING IN TO THE ROVING REPORTER!
It's not MY fault.....Blame it on Activerain!! Having signed on so long ago after being on other blog sites, I discovered AR. I was on EBlogger, Ezines, Selfgrowth and many other online publications. And as a Feng Shui Consultant I was ONLY writing about Feng Shui.
Activerain changed all that. I believe it was one of the very first posts I read that advised me to ALWAYS CARRY MY CAMERA. I didn't have a good one at the time but a trip to B & H in Manhattan changed all that. I came out with a lot of help, a great price and a wonderful camera (which can do anything but I leave it on "P" -- Point and Shoot : )
I've noticed, over time, that had I NOT read that useful piece of advice, I would have missed some very unusual shots. So much so that lately I feel I've become the ROVING REPORTER-First on the scene.
A New York Feng Shui Consultant---OR a Reporter? I've become a bit of both! Now all I need is a Press Pass...
Grand Opening of a New Gym Called SNAPS. We were there to get the "scoop."
The Auspicious Number AND Color for Feng Shui--Right in Manhattan!
Car damage at Jones Beach--We were passing before the police got there!
Taken in Bethpage Long Island--we belive it was a Memorial, they had several up.
A guy's gotta eat---so does his best friend :)
Taken at just the RIGHT time of day, this building across from the Plaza reflects the buildings facing it when the sun is right.
This accident in Farmingdale Long Island---the driver knocked down a water hydrant and almost hit a home.
Have YOU turned in to a ROVING REPORTER? I would love to see some shots you would never have gotten if you hadn't been reading ACTIVERAIN.

Central Park AGAIN? Well, yes and no. I was in Central Park in Manhattan not long ago when they were celebrating their 150th anniversary! A beautiful day (and a post to follow) but there is just ONE shot I wanted to show you:

I loved the huge balloon and many other things scattered throughout the Park to commemorate this occasion. And was struck by this fountain as well....I later found out it is the oldest fountain in Central Park. I thought it was beautiful and that I must have passed it before---It looks so familiar.
There are so MANY fountains in Central Park but this one was nagging at me. Feng Shui Consultants LOVE fountains and use them and recommend them to our clients for certain ‘cures' and reasons. They even make tiny desktop fountains now that run on batteries they have become so popular.
But there was something about THIS one. Only later did I find out why. Even if you've never been to lovely New York City, you may recognize this fount
I wanted to see how many people might recognize it....NO CHEATING : ) So try not to read the comments and just have a bit of FUN.

Feng Shui Question of the Week by Feng Shui Long Island & New York (Manhattan)
Whether it is my increased online presence due to Activerain or a heightened interest in Feng Shui (or a combination of BOTH!), I can't say. I CAN tell you that I receive many emails each week asking questions about Feng Shui.
I have always made it a practice to try and respond to each and every person who took the time to write but have been finding it a bit overwhelming lately. I thought of our own Katerina Gasset here on Activerain and a post that SHE began because she also was overwhelmed with questions.
Never one to steal an idea, I emailed my lovely friend to ask her if I would be able to post a "Feng Shui Question of the Week." Without hesitation I received a lovely email back from her saying of course, it was fine with her. Thank you, Katerina! Nestor & Katerina Gasset Realtors® Wellington Florida Luxury Homes
People ARE reading Activerain from ALL OVER. And while they may not join and post comments, we ARE being read. I am hoping that by doing this it will not only help the person that asked but others who may have the same question.
You are ALL welcome to submit questions to my email at FengShuiLI@aol.com I will still do my best to answer other questions as well but will chose one each week-and post it.....WITHOUT identifying anyone.

New York City-Manhattan---A Feng Shui Consultant's Day....
The San Gennaro Feast in Manhattan is something I NEVER miss. I know some people LOVE New York City....and others are not so fond of it! The San Gennaro Feast runs every year and is the oldest, largest and best known Italian Feast. St. San Gennaro is the patron Saint of Naples and people come from all over the world each year to attend this festival. Feast of San Gennaro
1.5 million attended this year. Laura Cerrano and I accounted for two of those : ) If you can't stand crowds, noise or unpredictable weather, this is not something you would enjoy. In fact I was dismayed to hear from one of my AR friends that last years post-when not a DROP of rain was predicted but we had a heavy and unrelenting downpour is the way I will be remembered....OUCH!
That post was SUPPOSED to show Determination and Creativity from Feng Shui Consultants in New York who have learned to "Go With the Flow." I guess not. You need Persistance AND Creativity in New York City But if you love fairs, you'll adore this one! This year we have a balmy 89 degrees and it STILL did not stop the crowds.
Here are some shots of a special day in Manhattan at their famous San Gennaro Feast--Seen through Feng Shui Eyes!

Feng Shui Romance
As a New York Feng Shui Consultant, sometimes things are very easy to see from a Feng Shui perspective. Luckily, at this Feng Shui Consultation in Suffolk County Long Island, this was one of them.
I sit with my client's for a while before actually going through their home or office. I want to hear what they primarily want to focus on (finances, health, careers, romance) and I also want to teach them as much as I can about the principles and topics of Feng Shui---the more they understand, the more empowered they become.
The understand the reason behind the changes and are more likely to make them. On occasion, it is a combination of things both inside and outside we see that could use some enhancements from a Feng Shui Perspective. And sometimes, it's something so easy, even a caveman can spot it (sorry, I enjoy those Geico commercials : )
Remember, in the BAGUA if you are standing out in Front of the house facing the Front Door and you are addressing the OUTSIDE of your home, your relationship area is the back right hand side of the property. If you're looking for love or to strengthen a current relationship, this is the area outside to go to.
I know if you've got a basic understanding of Feng Shui, you can SEE what's wrong with this area. Explaining it to my client, she just shook her head and exclaimed "no wonder." Her relationships, she had told me had all ended. "The men I meet are garbage" were her EXACT words. This is for all you Feng Shui Cavemen:
Back Right Hand side of property.
Any Questions?
See, you've got some "Feng Shui Eyes!"
