Renovations are NEVER fun. They disrupt our lives and disturb the Energy in our Homes and Businesses and yet, they’re a necessary part of moving along and expanding.

These clients called me in for a Feng Shui Consultation AFTER they had begun Renovations in their once lovely Long Island home in Merrick. Here, the renovations were put on hold as the husband had lost his job.

Many Feng Shui Consultants believe that we have so many problems with Renovations, not only in New York but all over is because the Energy has to move too rapidly. We usually recommend to our clients that if they are thinking of having extensive renovations in their home or business to do a Space Clearing.

Renovations are also a good time to see if your new floor plans will help to enhance the Feng Shui in a home. As a New York Feng Shui Consultant I am often asked to review floor plans of what my clients intend to create. I often work with architects and builders as well, upon my clients request.

The SIGNS in Feng Shui in New York -- From a New York Feng Shui Consultant

When I began my Feng Shui Course in New York in 1996, one of the very first things we learned about was to look for "signs" on our way to a client's home. While on my way to Feng Shui Consultations either here on Long Island or in New York City or Queens, I have since come across some unusual SIGNS.

Interpreting these signs in Feng Shui can be another thing. For example, there was the time I passed a Clown riding a bicycle on a Long Island NY road. I had no idea until I was speaking with my clients during the consultation and the husband told me his job was a comedian. He was concerned he may not make it in his chosen career and I related what I had passed-which I took as a VERY good sign that he would. (Today he is quite well known!)

It doesn't surprise me that for some reason, most of my clients have frogs. In Feng Shui, we sometimes recommend a Frog as a sign of Abundance (Think Money Frogs :) They don't always have Feng Shui Frogs but I'll see one somewhere in their home. On a Feng Shui Consultation in a New York City Apartment I came across Kermit; in a home where there were no children-yet.

I mentioned my thoughts of Good Fortune associated with a Frog in Feng Shui and my client went and got another one to show me. This one he has just won in a game.

During the Feng Shui Consultation in this small but lovely NYC Apartment, I found a number of issues to correct. Weights were being stored under the bed, clutter had taken over one of the rooms and the Dining Room "felt" lifeless. No one ever ate in there my client told me after I'd asked her about it.

On my way home I stopped in a store I hadn't been to before on Long Island. Known for the unusual things it carries, I was looking for something specific. And found FROGS everywhere! To me it's a clear sign my Feng Shui Clients will be successful and I called to tell them about the "signs."

Somehow, I was not at all surprised to receive a call just a short time later. The husband who had concerns of being let go was actually called into the office-and instead of being let go, he had received an unexpected raise. The wife had applied for a higher position in her company; a position, she said, she "didn't have a hope of getting." She had applied, she said, for the experience.

Yes, she got it. Along with a Company car, full health benefits and a huge salary increase. When she called, I could hear the excitement in her voice as she was telling me this and I was thrilled right along with her! She also told me about other wonderful things that had come their way. I wasn't surprised. There ARE signs everywhere. Some are small and we might miss them if we're not paying attention.

I had landed in Frog Heaven : )

Silly as they may sound, remember to LOOK for the SIGNS in life!

Habitat for Humanity -- Home Stagers -- Feng Shui on Long Island New York....Suffolk County

What does Habitat for Humanity and Home Stagers have in common? Here, on Long Island New York they are working together to help create a special home for a special family.

Habitat Suffolk New York has joined forces with the Central Long Island Chapter of the American Society of Home Stagers and Redesigners to help create this new home in Bay Shore Long Island and the dedication is to be held on November 7^th, 2009. Prior to the dedication ceremony, the Central Long Island Chapter of ASHSR will host an Open House event and invite members of The Long Island Board of Realtors, LIBOR, to see the vision come true.

Val called me one day to describe the project and add a little Feng Shui to this home on Long Island New York. Laura Cerrano and I were excited at the prospect. We haven't worked on a non profit since 2006 and were feeling it was time to give back to the community. Opportunities present themselves when they are supposed to.

Central Park New York City by Feng Shui Long Island & New York

After a recent Feng Shui Consultation in New York City recently, I headed up to Central Park. I lucked out with a beautiful, warm day and while I should be used to seeing these horses, I still have mixed feelings about them.

New York City is legendary for their Carriage Rides through Central Park. And years ago I'd taken my children on one; I hadn't looked closely at the Horse at the time and he fell ill during the ride. I hated seeing the horse in such distress and we left the ‘ride.'

I haven't taken another trip around Central Park since that time except by foot....and once, one of those little ‘bicycle cars' that people pedal. I have mixed feelings about the Carriage Rides through Central Park these days as I watch the Horses now. Their eyes are directed straight ahead and you always wonder how much of a break they actually get on those busy, beautiful days.

Still, they are part of New York City. One of the magical parts I probably would miss seeing. I believe if I knew the horses were someplace where they were free and could roam, I'd get along without them just fine.

Birds of a Feather?

There have been a growing number of crimes on Long Island New York that are being billed as "discrimination" by some while others believe it's the number of gangs that have grown in certain areas of Long Island New York. Others just believe it's the growing population on Long Island NY.

The old saying "Birds of a Feather Stick Together" came to mind when I saw this picture. Two birds, clearly NOT the same still enjoying a lovely day together. Belmont Lake State Park in Suffolk County Long Island NY may be a wonderful way to spend a day...and learn a lesson or two. A lesson we can teach our children-by the ways of ducks.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we all just got along?
