Motorcycle Riding!

Time for another "what is there to do around here?" post!

The Mountain Communities are a very popular place for dirt bike riding. The weather is usually cooperative, there are plenty of trails and there are nice spots for the beginning rider with plenty of challenges for the more experienced riders.

Down the interstate about 10 minutes is the Hungry Valley SVRA recreation spot. There are 130 miles of trails for motorcyles, ATVs, dune buggies and 4x4. Usually, you'll see signs posted on the trails as to the difficulty level and types of vehicles allowed on that particular trail.

The area also has an Open Riding Area and a Motocross Track which is open to the public as long as there is no scheduled event or race. Not ready for the Motocross Track? Try the practice track which is a mile long and includes jumps, twists and turns.

Yep, that's me getting ready for a ride. Of course I added the helmet, chest protector and cool jersey before I took off.

Know any other good riding spots in the Mountain Communities? Tell me about them! Maybe I'll see you out there!

Hiking In Pine Mountain Club

I am always asked, "what is there to do in Pine Mountain Club?"

There are some fabulous hiking trails here, and a nice easy one is a trail located at the end of Woodland Drive. There are a couple rough patches on the way up to the seasonal waterfall, but we negotiated them pretty well.

Rather than go on and on, I've included a couple pictures. I didn't see any exotic wildlife (maybe that's a good thing), but did run across some lizards and blue skipper butterflies.

Enjoy!
