Hunters Meadow is a cul-de-sac subdivision located in the south west corner of Raleigh just off Holly Springs & Penny Road consisting of about 35 custom built homes on larger manicured lots. Quail Landing Court

Neighbors are friendly and welcoming – every other month the “Ladies Social” has been held at a different home each time and has allowed the ladies time to get acquainted, enjoy good things to nibble and sip on, laugh, and well just learn about each other. Once a year the families all get together for a block party that’s a big hit with everyone young and old!

Lots of pride of ownership here! Last year during the drought the home owners took it upon themselves to keep up the front entrance’s plants/flowers - volunteering for weeks to haul water up to the entrance. Hunters Meadow is just a delightful place to call home.

P. S. It's a goal of ours to be a go to source for subdivisions and information in the Triangle.

Raleigh's Garbage Disposal Ban DOWN THE DRAIN...

Ahha - 1 month after Raleigh Council members voted on keeping the Garbage disposal ban they have trashed it! The ordinance took effect March 17th and carried some pretty hefty fines - $25,000 a day PLUS the loss of their water service.

Apparently 100's of Raleigh residents said just "stop it" (make sure you say it with a southern draw... staah peit).

The information given council that that FOG (food and grease) found blocking the sewer systems wasn't there because of disposals... it was there because of people rinsing their dishes and the junk going down the drain! I still can't imagine that they had to have some study done to come to that conclusion.

In any event if there were any folks out there concerned about moving here to the Raleigh area because they'd have to be without their garage disposal can start packing.

So now what about our drought situation?

Raleigh bans garbage disposals – oh my!

Hard to believe I spoke with a lady who's family is considering making a move to Raleigh from Vegas a couple days ago and they actually had heard about our garbage disposal ban. She actually questioned me on the whole garbage disposal issue. At first I just sort of chuckled and made some trite comment. But then after we hung up I got to thinking who else out there may have heard about this very important - life changing issue here in Raleigh???

So today's blog is for anyone out there who has their move to Raleigh on hold because they may not be able to have a garbage disposal if they move here...

City Hall has council members embarking on a heated debate on whether or not disposals in new homes will be outlawed. The ban also means you cannot replace a broken disposal with a new one in an existing home.

All this discussion came about because of our drought... (which by the way it's rained here for the last couple of days - continuously) So maybe in due time the garbage disposal debate will get washed out as well.

We'll just have to wait and see...

Raleigh NC - one terrific place to be in Real Estate

I thought one of the first things I need to write about is Raleigh NC... or the Triangle as it's often called. Since our moving here over 12 years ago we've seen a lot changes. As a Realtor - we've seen a lot of potential! It's not hard to see why once you start to look around and read all of the articles, accolades etc bestowed on this area. In Wake County alone some 60-90 people a day move here. We've started listing subdivisions on our website to give visitors a better feel for what they can expect around the Triangle.

I want to share with you some highlights of the 2007 recognitions we've collected...
