NC is going GREEN with education and sustainable buildings and construction.

This is a big trend in the real estate industry now. I'm looking forward to learning a few new things about green living, new home construction with recycled products and low cost ways to help my home buyers and home sellers in the Wake County area.

I try to avoid having my 3 year old daughter along on appointments but sometimes, I don't have a choice. I am always willing to show homes in the evening on short notice, but I forewarn my buyers that I need to bring mini me along.
DISCLAIMER: Now, for future clients...this tag along has only happened a few times over the past year. This has popped up as a rare issue since I became a single mom. I just don't have a helper. Thank you in advance for your understanding! :-)
Soooo...last night I showed a lovely home in Wendell to some home buyers who are relocating to Raleigh from NY. They really liked this home since it offered an acre lot, a pool and a pond view. It's a really nice choice for their needs.
I met them at the property at 6pm after picking up mini me from Pre-school. We talked in the car about how exciting it would be for her to help mommy with work and to sell a home. I explained that the home buyers were trying to find somewhere to "keep their toys" (This is important when you're 3)! She was very excited to be my big girl helper.
We pulled into the driveway and she exclaimed "Mommy, this house has a pool and playground!"
I said "Why yes it does...isn't that nice?"
Her response was priceless... "We can't sell this house to those people, I want to buy it! I can play, swim and there's plenty of places to keep my toys...they need to buy another house."
I just started to laugh...from the mouth of babes! She knows what she likes and that's more than I can say for many home buyers.
The best way to start narrowing down your wish list is write down your priorities. It doesn't matter if you're a first time home buyer, trade up seller looking for a foreclosure deal, or a 3 year old who just wants a fun place to call home...you need to have an idea of what you're needs are.
Hiring a Realtor is also helpful. We know what you get for your $$.
Good luck and Happy House Hunting!

A group of friends went out a few weeks ago for a night on the town and some oysters downtown.
42nd St Oyster Bar is a Raleigh landmark but it's also a great night spot to catch some music.

Each Thursday the bands are great but I found a favorite! This Thursday August 13, 2009 they are hitting the bar again!
They are called The Design.

There was a big time oops today...sounds like a heck of a deal though! Wish it was true, but the slick wording of a disclaimer doesn't hold Best Buy to this. They can change and rearrange anything that is a misprint...is basically what the this disclaimer says.
What if an Agent or Realtor mistyped the sales price for a home? An offer comes in and you have to explain to the sellers why someone just offered a crazy amount for that home?
OR worse yet, an agent or Realtor doesn't review the listing and the home is over priced? Like a $97k listing turns into $997k! No wonder there aren't any showings.
I suppose the listing agreement would stand over a MLS mistype but I don't want to look like the dummy for not representing my clients properly.
Just double check before you hit the button.
Happy House Hunting!
