Downtown Delray Beach, located east of Interstate 95 (I-95) off Atlantic Avenue in South Palm Beach County. Delray Beach is about 15 miles south of West Palm Beach and is the town north of Boca Raton, Florida.
As the busy winter season has now began (October - April), I am not disappointed in the continued interest in the area real estate near the historic town of Downtown Delray Beach. With the small town feel of the brick paved sidewalks, small boutiques and fine dinning in dozens of restaurants, you will not be disappointed by the atmosphere of the area.
The Avenue as locals call it are use to annual seasonal visitors and very much welcome them into their town especially if you are a business owner.
"I see great interest and am excited how popular the local real estate market is, especially the high demand to own a historic home nearby in one of the five historic districts. There are about a dozen condo buildings for those desiring urban living" a local resident explains.
As a Realtor in Downtown Delray Beach, I am proud to represent a new age buyers. For a number of years now, Downtown Beach living continues to take leaps and strides in the right direction. Just a great place to live; walk to the shops, dinning and the beautiful beaches without ever picking up a set of car keys. Did I mention the town is pet friendly? Come visit!! You just may decide to stay.

I was recently speaking with a lady that was taking a stroll down Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach, Florida. She was in inquiring about the five historic districts and her interest in finding a home in the beautiful Downtown Delray Beach area.
There are five historic districts in Delray Beach that are all within walking distance to Atlantic Avenue, the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) and the beach. Each district is unique in its own way and has become priceless to own.
The "West Settlers Historic District" is located just north of Atlantic Avenue between Fire Station #1 at NW 5th Avenue and Delray Beach Tennis Center at NW 3rd Avenue. The West Settlers Historic District is small in size but is considered significant in importance because of the families that established the city between 1895 - 1920 helped solidify what Delray Beach is today.
The "Del-Ida Park Historic District" consists of 58 acres with a total of 151 structures that was platted in 1923. This area was one of Delray's first planned developments with a large percentage of Mediterranean Revival Style construction and Craftsman Bungalow structures. The district features include diagonal streets that make up the unique triangular shaped blocks with varying street frontages.
"Old School Square Historic District" was originally the geographical center of town. 101 of the 176 structures are fifty years old or older on this fifteen block district. Although rezoned in 1990, this district has not lost its architectural style. The Old School Square Historic District runs along Swinton Blvd.
The "Marina Historic District" is situated on the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) and built around the town's city marina. The district has a distinctive blend of architecture on some of Delray's most valuable property. A short walk to the nearby shops on the narrow streets. Noticably the most pedestrian friendly district.
Although further east, let's not leave out the "Nassau Park Historic District". This Cape Cod Colonial Revival style cottage district is a short walk to the beach. Platted in 1935 as resort style living in the city during the 1930's.
