Children vs. The World!

So last night I was watching Extreme Makeover Home Edition. I was watching this child, who was diagnosed with leukimia at the age of 4, he had been through many surgerys and basically lived a life in a hospital. Despite all that he had been through, he still wore a smile on his face. I think that children who have illnesses, are better sports about it than adults that have illnesses. This also made me think about Adults and Children in our economy. Children are so carefree and naive to this economy we are living in today. Adults tend to get scared and run from doing new things. Why do we do that? Why when something gets bad, we run? Children stick it out and wait until something good comes of things. Like the little boy on Extreme Makeover, he waited for something good to come in his life. Even when things weren't so good in his life, he was brave, he wore a smile everyday and he gave others around him inspiration. I think we all need to get a little inspiration from our children, not matter who they are. Whether they are healthy or sick, our children can teach us all to be happy all the time and not worry about the world around us. So if its wanting to buy a home for the first time, or invest in a property, or even upsize your existing home. Don't let this economy stand in your way, now is the time to buy!! Now is the time that all those wonderful deals are out there for buyers, and we don't need to let our fears get in the way of us snagging up one of those great deals!

The Steps to Take When Purchasing a New Home

When purchasing a home in this market or any market, it is important to know the steps to take in order to make the process much easier. Below you will find some helpful information about the home buying process, some you may already know and some may be new to you.

  1. Speak with a lender and have your credit Pre-Approved
  • This helps you to house hunt in confidence. It assures that you are going to get financing in order to purchase the home that you want when you find it.

2. Start searching for the home that is perfect for you and your family.

  • Contact a real estate agent to assist you in your search for the perfect home. To find that perfect home, think about the neighborhood you want to be in, school district, size of home and yard, etc.

3. It is time to make an offer.

  • Once you find that perfect home, make an offer. Think about how much you want to spend in order to make it yours. Your realtor will help you in the negotiating process by seeing what other homes have sold for in the neighborhood, and determining how much repairs, renovations, etc. might cost.

4. Get a home inspection.

  • Hire a qualified proffesional to perform a home inspection. Your realtor should be able to give you the name of one or two that they use and trust. The inspector will examine every detail of the house and will record any problems in the inspection report. The inspection report can be used to negotiate with the seller.

5. Close the deal.

  • The closing is the end of the transaction. All parties to the transaction meet with the closing attorney where all the paperwork is signed. At the end of the closing, you, the new homeowner are handed the keys to your new home!

6. Move In!

  • And last, but definatly not least, its time to move your stuff in. Congratulations, you are now the owner of the perfect home for you family!

I hope that this information was helpful to the people who are looking to buy a new home soon. Please, if you have any questions on the home buying process, feel free to give me a call. I would love to go over it with you and set up and appointment to start the process!
